The shipping lanes around Da Deff Islands have long been rife

pirates and danger. This was true even before the Ork spores
came to
Ammoriss. Now however, they are more dangerous than ever.
For
the last twenty years, the Orks have slowly built their own
underworld empire on Da Deff islands. Their leader,
WarbossSkarbash; was content to stay in the shadows

He was the top Ork in anunderworld web of criminals,
smugglers, pirates, and blackmarket traders. He, and hisrivals;
controlled what went inand out of Da Deff Islands. Ifthere was
something you needed,he and his network could provideit. Even the
well-to-do fromthe Ammoriss mainland understoodand recognized his
unique
abilities. They were not abovepurchasing his services toacquire
rare items, harass
rivals, and other services bestleft unspoken.
The Warbosses activities were oflittle concern to the rulers
ofAmmoriss. For the most part,they were content to let Skarbashand
Da Deff Islands go beneaththeir notice. For his part, theWarboss
was more than happy tocollect his loot, and keep his
criminal empire. Why fight,when he could gather what hewanted

submarine pirate fleet wasunmatched by his rivals and hisswarm
of Mob boats ruled DaShallows.
As a gift, his Mekz builtSkarbash a particularly mighty
and powerful Submerzahbull. Itbecame the Warbosses flagship,his
premiere pirate craft. Withit, his legend upon thearchipelago
amongst the orksonly grew. The Syndicate couldnot hope to match
it.
The Battle for Ammoriss brokeacross the planet. However,
little changed on Da Deffislands. The orks were excitedby the
build-up of Waaagh!Energy, but most of theirattacks were directed
atImperial shipping. Skarbashpersonally led a few large raidsfrom
the bridge of hisSubmerzahbull. His boyz
nicknamed the ship, a Hornedeff after its distinctive
Deathskull clan totem and hornedram.
After the Battle for Ammoriss,Warboss Skarbash concernedhimself
with keeping AdmiralTravers and his TaskForce: Force
of Arms from successfullyblockading Da Deff Islands.The Warboss
knew that if hisaccess to the sea were cut off,his criminal empire;
and thecitizens it preyed upon; wouldnot survive. Therefore,
aHorned eff took to the sea oncemore.
The legend of a Horned effbegan to spread across
GreaterAmmoriss. Merchant sailors
began to whisper of it in hushedtones, as if saying its
namewould invoke it. From there, Orkpirates would hear the story
fromcaptured human merchant sailors.As word spread, soon
Orkremanants from the Battle for
Ammoriss were using the legend ofa Horned eff as a rallying
cry. It was a focal point asthey began to stream into DaDeff
Islands to join WarbossSkarbash and his Waaagh!
The only problem was, Skarbashwasnt interested in a Waaagh!All
he wanted was as much loot as
he could get his hands on.Events quickly spiraled out ofcontrol.
Before he knew it,Warboss Skarbash and a Hornedeff had become the
new symbol
of Orky Waaagh! Power onAmmoriss.
As Operation: Hemlock approaches
the planners of NavComm Northexpect to encounter a Hornedeff in
battle yet again. This
time, they have vowed to send herto the bottom, no matter
thecost.
