Night Shyamalan (1999) I felt there is some sense in what I have experienced. In the film the director could not explain the meaning of sixth sense. He gave instances to explain that state of sense. This state of sense is not super natural, but the awareness of what was there and invisible to naked eye or sense. All these happened during my overseas stay of roughly 25 years in gulf countries especially Saudi Arabia. After leaving these countries and settling in my home town in India so far I could not experience the same level of sense, the awareness of “what is there which the naked eye and sense cannot perceive or feel”. Geographically India is thickly forested land without giving much meadows or deserts. In a forested area the distance of 1km is much when compared to that in desert. In a desert area 1km distance is very near just can be said, “there” and not far away. Even though the distance 1km is the same in both places the geographical troughs and striations gives a difference in the feeling of distance. In desert as the space is empty just before the eye the frames of atmosphere before the eye overlay and appear thick or dense reducing the distances. Far away shining sand particles overlay creating glittering oasis just near to the vision. Now the question is whether the breeze or wind carries these thick overlay frames of atmosphere from location to location? Leaving the thought somewhere here I recall some of my experiences. I shall recollect a few only. The location is Saudi Arabia. I wanted to visit my friends house as he had told me that he was back from his short vacation in India. He went for a short vacation due to some urgency which I did not know. I also wanted to convey to him my visit to our country to spend my annual vacation as I would be travelling within a few days. During our talk he told me they visited their home in India as his father in law was sick and hospitalized. So they decided to see the sick man in hospital. I had known about the ill health of his father in law as he had told me this before also. So I thought it a natural instinct to visit the old man. As I was talking to my friend his wife came and stood just at the front door. I turned towards her to enquire about her father and his ill health. I looked at her face. This review is some of my experience in my life and I could not say what it was. When I

saw the movie “Sixth Sense” of M. Night Shyamalan (1999) I felt there is some sense in

what I have experienced. In the film the director could not explain the meaning of sixth

sense. He gave instances to explain that state of sense. This state of sense is not super

natural, but the awareness of what was there and invisible to naked eye or sense.

All these happened during my overseas stay of roughly 25 years in gulf countries

especially Saudi Arabia. After leaving these countries and settling in my home town in

India so far I could not experience the same level of sense, the awareness of “what is

there which the naked eye and sense cannot perceive or feel”.

Geographically India is thickly forested land without giving much meadows or deserts.

In a forested area the distance of 1km is much when compared to that in desert. In a

desert area 1km distance is very near just can be said, “there” and not far away. Even

though the distance 1km is the same in both places the geographical troughs and

striations gives a difference in the feeling of distance. In desert as the space is empty

just before the eye the frames of atmosphere before the eye overlay and appear thick

or dense reducing the distances. Far away shining sand particles overlay creating

glittering oasis just near to the vision. Now the question is whether the breeze or wind

carries these thick overlay frames of atmosphere from location to location? Leaving the

thought somewhere here I recall some of my experiences. I shall recollect a few only.

The location is Saudi Arabia. I wanted to visit my friend’s house as he had told me that

he was back from his short vacation in India. He went for a short vacation due to some

urgency which I did not know. I also wanted to convey to him my visit to our country to

spend my annual vacation as I would be travelling within a few days.

During our talk he told me they visited their home in India as his father in law was sick

and hospitalized. So they decided to see the sick man in hospital. I had known about

the ill health of his father in law as he had told me this before also. So I thought it a

natural instinct to visit the old man.

As I was talking to my friend his wife came and stood just at the front door. I turned

towards her to enquire about her father and his ill health. I looked at her face. I got

stuck my eyes on her face. I felt she was crying, I saw two lines of tears from her eyes

channeling down through her cheeks. I clearly saw drops of tears just brimming at the

lower eye lids of both eyes. I was bewildered and mystified. I could not ask anything to

her. So I closed my eyes just for a moment and opened. Now I saw her smiling face at

me and asking about my health. There was no trace of any tears in her eyes no

channels of tears on her cheek.

Suddenly I got the point. She had to cry in very near future for the beloved ones. I felt

that the old man would face his last days within a few days. That was just an intuition.

I asked my friend why they came back hurriedly; they could have spent some more

days. He said the company wanted his presence at an early date and also father in law

was feeling good at health. I told him if willing he could send his wife with me. Then I

left and forgot the incident. After reaching home, on the third day I got a call from my

friend. He arrived at his home town as he got the message that his father in law died

previous day.

What to say about this incident? His wife, the daughter of the dead man was having the

message of his death in advance which his daughter could not understand and needed

a perceiver.

Now a second incident! Location is again Saudi Arabia. I decided to leave this country

for my better life. I packed everything and couriered to home town. I handed over my

room to the owner. I was returning to my room. On the way I saw one of my well

wisher who was an expert in car mechanism. I used to take his guidance while

purchasing new and used cars in Saudi Arabia.

When I saw him first he smiled and the smile faded from his face. I felt some bad omen

on his face.

I quietly asked him, “ Is there any trouble with you?”

He just laughed and said, “Nothing in particular, I decided to leave this country, say

good bye forever”

I said, “What a coincidence! I will be leaving this country forever next week”

I looked at his face. He appeared awkward on his face. So I said, “You appear pale on

your face”.

I just caught his hand. It was cold but the season was summer and temperature might

be around 40oC outside”.

Page 3: Sixth sense

He said, “I do not feel cold, may be you have some problem with your health. Take

care of yourself.”

I said, “Ok, I will call you once you reach home”

He said, “Will you call me? I don’t know”. He just laughed as if I would not call him. We

departed.

I travelled to India. After a couple days one of my friends called me from his home.

He said, “Do you remember our expert car specialist who used to help you on car

matters?”

I told him that we had met each other before our leaving.

Then he said that he died by heart attack at the airport departure launch while waiting

to aboard. His body would be flown to his home in a couple of days.

His last words just stuck me, “Will you call me? I do not know!!”

Was he aware of the farewell from this world?!

Here I see his sixth sense reminding him of his last day. He was conveying this

message to the perceiver because while touching his cold hand I could not perceive

what was going to happen.

Just remembering another incident!

I was driving from Udhaliyah, Eastern province, Saudi Arabia, through express highway

which is connecting Emarates and Bahrain. My work took so much time and it was

evening and sun required half an hour to disappear. I was tired and I drove to a nearby

petro station to take a cup of tea and refresh. I parked my vehicle inside the station

and took a cup of tea from bufia to refresh. Just I was standing in the rear side of my

car, suddenly a car drove in and took a 90 degree turn in front of me. Car stopped and

a Saudi gentleman came out of the car and started yelling at me

“What you friend did? Why he wanted to jump in front my car? Where is he?”

I got stuck. I did not have anybody accompanying me throughout my driving so far.

I told him, “I do not have any body with me. Can you see anybody?”

He said, “I saw one Saudi guy just with you and he jumped towards my car. So I turned

my car hurriedly to avoid accident. Where did he go?”

I looked around. I couldn’t see anybody

Page 4: Sixth sense

I said, “Nobody is here around. Please relax and take a cup of tea”.

I took him to the bufia. I just waited for him to come out

He took a cup of tea and came to me and said, “really my friend I saw a Saudi Guy in

his traditional clothes just standing with you and jumping to my car”

I told him, “please take of yourself while driving and drive carefully”. He went to his car

and drove away in a hurry

I noted his dark green Mercury Grand Marquis car and the number

Suddenly, fear creped through my spin. I doubted, was there anybody with me still.

I regained to my surroundings and drove my car very cautiously with a feeling that

somebody was sitting in my car.

I drove through the express high way and needed forty minute to approach the exit

road to the place where I stayed. Once I reached the exit I saw some accident at the

exit junction. A truck had hit a car and the car was thrown to one side. I saw

ambulance and traffic police. The ambulance was silent indicating that somebody died

at the spot. For curiosity I parked my car and tried to see the situation. I saw the car,

Mercury Grand Marquis (!!), the same car that drove out from the petrol station; I

moved in to see the body on the stretcher. It was the same Saudi guy whom I saw

driving out from the petrol station. He was sleeping on the stretcher very young well

built handsome man, I felt. What to say, I drove to my room. The complete sequences

of happenings still hound me.

The question that remained in me was that how the apparition accompanied me and

moved to the other guy from petrol station?!

Leaving such matters I just remember something special. Geographical and environmental differences of places can give different types of atmosphere which mesmerize common man. In our childhood we used to hear about ghosts or apparitions. But I never experienced seeing such apparitions when I was in my country. When I came to Saudi Arabia my work involved travelling distances through deserts during night also. When we travel certain areas in Saudi Arabia, we used to see some very light cloudy apparitions moving which we thought were polluted dense air being carried away by breeze and wind. In Saudi Arabia most of the time around the seasons the sky in the eastern province were smoky due to flares from drilling wells, gas oil separating plants, refineries, etc.. Saudi people in that area used to say that they could see ghosts during night while

travelling. I saw such apparitions during night which was just like micro cyclone without much movement but switching place to place. My question was why such apparitions were not seen during the day time. Actually they were there during day time also but the aura cannot withstand the day light. The frequency of that light is much longer compared to day light so could not be seen by naked eye. One Saudi person said that while taking camels along the desert there were some places were the camels would start to behave in a traumatic way and ran around. They said these places were once camel slaughter places and these animals could see ghosts of those who were slaughtered there. When I thought old Arabian story books giving stories on gins and ghosts I felt there was some sense in all what we endured. So the sixth sense is the awareness of “what is there which the naked eye and sense cannot perceive or feel”.
