    Please make a note of the following dates and events which relate to our

    sixth form.

    March 20th Year 10 students careers day

    April 15th Borough launch date (the borough post 16

    prospectus will be available)

    April 17/18/19th Year 10 Academic Reviews

    June 18th 6th form taster lessons

    July Christ's sixth form open evening (date TBC)

    July Sixth form applications open (date TBC)

    Welcome

    I am delighted to welcome you to this inaugural sixth form information and

    consultation evening. The aim of this evening is to give you the most up to date

    sixth form news and also give you the opportunity to be part of the decision

    making process and share your v ision on how the sixth form will take shape. I

    hope you find the evening both insightful and engaging. Mr Morris

    Understanding The Sixth Form

    Our first guest speaker will outline a number of issues regarding sixth form choicesand university progression and explain terminology relating to the topics below:

    Post 16 qualifications and how they are organised (focus on A levels) Russell Group universities What subjects to study if you know your course at university Facilitating subjects and why take them What subjects give the most options

    What subjects do universities look for

    UCAS applications- Beyond academic choices

    Following this, our other guests, two undergraduates from Imperial College, Lon-don, will talk about the following topics:

    Life as an undergraduate and what to expect in the 6th form

    Work/life balance in the sixth form

    Parent Consultation

    For this part of the evening we have created some displays with more infor-

    mation on two aspects of sixth form life: enrichment activities and dress code.

    There are details of enrichment activities that we may offer in our sixth form,

    please feel free to add comments or ask questions.

    Our fashion parade has been put together by our current Year 10 students.

    With a number of options to consider, we would value your input on the future

    dress code of Christs sixth form.

    Finally some of our ex year 11 students are on hand to discuss student life

    and the importance of independent study and work/life balance in the sixth

    form. They would welcome your questions and be happy to talk to you about

    their post 16 education and experience.
