INTRODUCTION

What is six stroke engine: An engine in which piston reciprocates 6 times in one cycle giving two power strokes with same fuel supply.

It works based on four stroke engine Types of six stoke engine

According to first approach

Intake valve Heating chamber valveCombustion chamber valve Exhaust valve Cylinder Combustion chamber Air heating chamber Wall of combustion chamberFuel injector spark plugWorking principle according to 1st approach

1st - Stroke, Suction Stroke The intake valve is open.

Intake of pure air in the cylinder.

The heating chamber valve is open.

Compression of pure air in the heating chamber.2nd Stroke, Compression Stroke

The Combustion chamber valve is open.

Release of combustion gases in the cylinder.3rd - Stroke, power(work) Stroke

The exhaust valve is open.Exhaust of the combustion gases.4th Stroke, Exhaust Stroke

5th - Stroke, power(work) Stroke The heating chamber valve is open.

Release of hot pure air into the cylinder.

6th Stroke, Recompression StrokeThe Combustion chamber valve is open.Recompression of the pure air in the combustion chamberAdvantages

Gas flow intake increases of 20%.

Increased power and torque output.

Better fuel economy.

Higher compression ration.

Clear burning and reduced emission15DisadvantagesComplex in head design.

Complex in cam design due two power stokes.

Thermodynamically engine is stable, yet design of parts becomes more complex due to increase in torque.conclusion More workdone for same fuel supply, high volumetric efficiency, reduce the emissions so that we have a bright future in six stoke engineAny questions????
