In the building construction, the combinati‐on of the betoShell®
textile concrete sys‐tem and the licensed lighting
technologySIUTtechnology creates design possibilitiesthat are
second to none: luminous facades.Through targeted integration of
the opticalfibers into the concrete facade elements,the material
itself becomes a light sourceand enables innovative lighting
concepts forthe new buildings and the renovation pro‐jects. Subtle
light illuminations ensure a ple‐asant environment and an
aestheticenhancement of partial or large facade sur‐faces.

Individual design and application of facade elements

BetoShell® SIUTtechnology is a textile-reinforced, slim and
lightweight concretefacade that meets highest quality standards.The
elements of the FLEX30 system with amaterial thickness of 30 mm,
enable a varietyof design options in the field of the
innovativearchitectural concrete. The elements comewith 4 undercut
anchors at the back and canbe easily attached to a substructure.
Fromformwork-smooth exposed concrete to theaggregate concrete, five
attractive surfacesand colours are available. The glass-fiber
orcarbon-reinforced fiber concrete slabs aremany times lighter than
reinforced concreteslabs.

Siut has succeeded in revolutionizing one ofthe oldest building

optical fibers, thesurfaces of our precast concrete elements
aretransformed into luminous displays. Thisserves both design
purposes and thevandalism-proof and weather-resistantprovision of
the information in the publicspaces. The natural material
properties of theconcrete block, as well as its look and feelremain
completely untouched. Using durable
and partly sensor-based electronics, ourprecast concrete
elements can be individuallyprogrammed and controlled. Depending
onthe location and purpose, our innovative andeasy-to-install
information systems for wallsand floors optimize orientation and
guidanceof the people- for example in the railwaystations, airports
and in the public spaces. Bydisplaying dynamic arrows, crosses,
lines orpictograms, our smart concrete not only findsapplication as
a guidance and informationsystem, but also as an innovative
