Summary of Work Completed: Customer reported issues with trying to re-close the main incomingVCB on the PIX Switchboard.
Upon arrival to site various issues were found as to why the mainincomer would not re-close.
1. The master trip relay for the main incomer had not been resetmanually. Without this reset a close operation could not beperformed.
2. The close signal for the main incoming VCB is wired through acontact on panel 3 and panel 5. The purpose of this is to ensureneither of the generator VCB`s are closed and in operation whentrying to re-close the mains supply. As the diesel generator was stillrunning on panel 5 a close operation could not be performed.
After shutting down the diesel generator on panel 5 and allowingthe VCB to open, a close signal was sent to the main incomingVCB to re-close. This operation was successful and all power wasrestored.
