Tilt-Up construction

This project is under the Florida Green

Building Coalition Certification (FGBC),

which encourage building owners to

design by using sustainable strategies

in the process of construction.

Tilt-Up is a construction method that

was used to accomplish this building.

The fast, low cost and energy efficient

construction process aids to reduce

energy consumption by using less

energy in the production of concrete

and also concrete is an excellent

insulator.

DOMINANT ISSUES

LOCATION STRUCTURE

Even though most popular areas of the

city are close to the building, there is

a problem with TRAFFIC. Dolphin

Express way and 836 has a minimum

of hour delays during rush hours.

NOISE is another concern in the

area. Designer needs to pay attention

where to locate focus area of working

and how existing materials like

concrete and glass allow sound

penetration.

Exposed structural elements on ceiling

will no be an option for Salvatore

Ferragamo’s Headquarters. Ceiling

design should enclose structural

elements and accentuate overall space

The building was design under sustainable principals; therefore interior designer

should follow the qualities of the elements that empower the entire building to

reduce energy consumption and improve employees well being.
