Hybrid recording system with up to64 camera inputs

Siemens hybrid technology unifies bothanalogue and digital technologies in asingle system, therefore allowing asmooth upgrade of existing systems. Withten available models, up to 32 standardanalogue cameras and 32 IP cameras canbe connected, with various hard disk size, and DVD burning options.

Integration in other systems Via the integrated software interface,SISTORE MX can be controlled by IVM, theinteractive video management software,SiPass access control system, and MM8000,the danger management system fromSiemens, to name but a few.

PTZ control for both speed domecameras and pan/tilt devices

Both speed dome and pan/tilt/zoom cam-eras can be controlled via the on-screeninterface of SISTORE MX. Preset positionscan be set and recalled simply, togetherwith setting patrols, where the cameramoves from one preset position to anoth-er automatically and “patrols” the facility.

Support of third-party IP camerasincluding PTZ control

SISTORE MX can also be connected tothird-party IP cameras that have alreadybeen installed and, if these are functionalcameras, then SISTORE MX also supportsPTZ control over a network.

Flexible remote monitoringIn networked applications during analarm condition, SISTORE MX can providea direct link to the remote viewing soft-ware, to allow immediate access to theimages over the network, or send SMSand if required an e-mail. This includedRemoteView software can also perform a“site-tour” – automatically connectingand disconnecting to pre-defined remotesites allowing the operator to simply sitback and watch the tour on the monitor.

Basic matrix switchingIt is possible to have a total of 4 analoguemonitor outputs – these can be used toswitch any of the 32 analogue cameras, creating a basic 32 x 4 switcher. Monitorscan be programmed to act as alarm mon-itors and SISTORE MX will automaticallyswitch cameras upon alarm activation.

Reference imageBenefiting both installers and end usersis the facility to store a “reference image”of the installed camera – so should it bemoved, maliciously or otherwise, orsimply if it has to be serviced, there is anexact record of its viewing position.

Various different display optionsWith the connection of up to 64 cameraspossible, multiple screen display optionsare provided to the user to ensure theoptimum viewing conditions.

Motion detectionTo optimise hard disk storage, the pixel-based motion detection system allowsthe user to define areas of interest in ascene and only when motion occursinside this area, will the images berecorded.

Covert camera modeAny camera can be recorded, but notdisplayed depending upon the user level,so cameras monitoring cash registerscould only be monitored by Managers forexample.

Quick and easy searchingTo ensure the fastest method of findingimages, a mask can be defined in thearea of interest, filtering the playback toonly that area and ensuring no time iswasted watching hours of useless video. Also, there is the timeline search, show-ing all recorded images across the cam-eras, including showing movementdetection, alarm triggers etc. – just dragthe line to the time or date required –simple. Of course it is also possible tosearch according to standard criteria suchas date, time, camera and logbook.

Additional features provided by SISTORE MX

Site plan featureIt is always difficult to remember all cam-era numbers and positions. The new siteplan feature of SISTORE MX provides afull visual overview of a facility. Siteplans or photos of facilities can be loadedeasily by adding the appropriate symbolfor the camera position to the site plan.In addition to this, it is possible to addadditional cards for individual rooms orfloors and link these so as to be able toeasily switch between rooms or floors. This is an important feature for operatingpersonnel when tracking suspiciouspersons on the premises.

Cash register connectionThe serial interface with which SISTOREMX is equipped can be used to connectvarious different cash register systems, therefore making the system suitable foruse in retail stores, shopping centres etc.Recording can be initiated for a corre-sponding camera based on specialword/line filters placed on the data sentfrom the cash register as well as definedalarm filters. The same filter words canthen be used as search criteria for subse-quent research.

Automatic backupSISTORE MX can automatically backupfull or partial video and audio recordingson an external drive. The time and daysof the week can be configured for back-up. The user can choose whether to carryout full or incremental backup. As op-posed to full backup, incremental backupis used to store all files that have beencreated since the last backup thereforerequiring considerably less time and stor-age capacity on the target drive.

The site plan feature helps operating personnel track suspicious persons.

Simply add and position cameras on the site plan via drag and drop.

Siemens cameras:For the best pictures in all lightingconditions.

Building Technologies

Attractive, powerful cameras forany area of application...

Only a camera optimally adjusted to prevailing light conditions candeliver clear, crisp images. Siemens has met this challenge at thehighest level and created a range of cameras to cover all customerneeds. Siemens offers solutions for every application, for indoor andoutdoor, from the inexpensive 1/3" CCD DSP version to the innovative1/2" top model, from simple monochrome cameras to high-perfor-mance colour cameras as well as specialised Wide Dynamic day-nightcameras. Cameras by Siemens can be used for monitoring in publicareas, for traffic monitoring, in tunnels, casinos, train stations, airports and many other applications. With their uniformly attractivedesign, the cameras offer a “sharper image” in any environment.

3

Secure surveillance even underextreme light conditions

Lighter and darker areas in the pictureare not a problem for cameras fromSiemens. The Wide Dynamic function, asapplied e.g. in the model CCWC1345, cancompensate varying light conditions andtherefore produce top quality images.

Setting privacy zones to protectsensitive image areas

To hide sensitive areas, privacy zonescan be configured in the camera view.Depending on the camera model, up to8 zones can be defined at any positionin the image.

Automatically switching day-nightcameras

In automatic day-night mode, the cameraswitches automatically to colour or mono-chrome according to the lighting level, ensuring crisp clear images 24 hours aday. The switching point, which dependson the lighting level, and the delay timefor switching the day-night setting whenthe lighting changes, can be selected bythe user. All day-night cameras have aninfrared cut filter that enables the camerato generate particularly sharp images byday or night and makes the camera sensi-tive to infrared light in monochromemode.

In addition to automatic operation, thecamera can be switched manually tomonochrome via an external relay input, for example when using a photocell thatdetects lighting levels.

Test image generator facilitatesaccurate setting of multiplemonitors

Many of the camera models can producea test image as a video output. This testimage generator enables the calibrationof multiple monitors, for example in acontrol room. Monitors calibrated to thesame settings display images with thesame colour, brightness, contrast etc. andare therefore easier and clearer to viewfor security personnel, when switchingthe same camera to another monitor.

User-friendly back focus adjustmentCorrect setting of back focus is the basicprerequisite for uniformly high imagequality by day or by night. There is a set-tings “wizard” available to help achievethe best back focus adjustment. This, together with the manual thumb wheel, make the adjustment very simple.

Video images via an Ethernetnetwork with the new super-highresolution indoor IP cameraCCIS1337

Images from the new super-high resolutionIP camera CCIS1337 can be transmittedover any Ethernet network and displayedvia a standard web browser. Additionalfeatures, such as day-night mode, themechanical infrared cut filter, MJPEGcompression and Power over Ethernet(PoE) technology make this camera atrue top-class model.

The latest Siemens high-resolution WideDynamic camera CCWC1345 uses Pixim,Inc.’s advanced “Digital Pixel System®”technology (DPS) to offer outstandingperformance under extreme lighting con-ditions. This technology allows each pixelin the image to act as an independentcamera. Thereby ensuring that each pixelreceives exactly the right amount of lightand enhancing the total image to deliveroptimum quality.

DPS technology also compensates foroverexposed and underexposed areas inthe image, making it possible for thiscamera to produce richly detailed imageswith a resolution that was previouslyunattainable. Difficult scenes containingareas of shadow or brightly lit zones cannow be monitored with confidence.

In addition to the normal BNC coaxialvideo connection for up to 200 m, thecamera features a two-wire video outputthat allows video signal transmissionover a distance of up to 1200 m using asimple two-wire cable (telephone cablefor example). A two-wire receiver is theonly extra piece of equipment required.

Integral motion detection also makes thiscamera capable of simple “stand-alone”scene surveillance.

Siemens cameras are renowned for excel-lent design and functionality and thenew CCWC1345 is no exception. For

CCWC1345 – the latest high-resolutioncolour camera from Siemens uses Pixim®

Technology and Wide Dynamic

example, the CCWC1345 features an OSDmenu for easy programming, backlightcompensation for 6 zones, an integraltest image generator to help when set-ting up multiple monitors and a settings“wizard” for optimum back focus adjust-ment. Moreover, the camera can beremotely-programmed via an RS485 inter-face and allows a privacy zone to be de-fined in the video image.

The camera’s ability to switch betweenPAL and NTSC video makes it suitable foruse in video surveillance systems all overthe world.

Privacy zones protect PIN numberand account information.

Due to Hybrid Technology from Siemensthe IP camera CCIS1337 offers truly thebest of both worlds, as a standard ana-logue BNC connection is present for usein traditional CCTV systems. However, with Hybrid Technology from Siemens, the camera is future-proof, because asthe system is transferred to digital (i.e.swapped from coaxial cable to Ethernettransmission), these Siemens camerasalso have an Ethernet connector to al-low direct connection to an IP network.

Siemens IP cameras capture and send livestreaming video directly over an IP net-work that enables users to view and man-age the camera using a standard webbrowser or SISTORE MX NVS (networkvideo recorder) software on any local orremote computer on a network. There-fore transmission distances are no longera problem.

SISTORE MX NVS – Network VideoSoftware

SISTORE MX NVS software allows all thefunctionality of the highly successfulSISTORE MX digital recording system totake place directly on a PC. This means itis possible to record IP cameras on yourPC, via password access restrict the view-ing of the cameras and utilise the manymulti-screen viewing formats possible(up to 32 IP cameras can be recorded andviewed simultaneously). Of course ifrequired you can manage any alarmsconnected, or make use of the in-builtmotion detection and sabotage detectionalarms.

SISTORE MX NVR – Network VideoRecorder

Each SISTORE MX NVR supports therecording and management of up to 16IP cameras. It also features additionalfunctions such as motion or sabotage de-tection and many more.

InstallationAn IP based Ethernet network infrastruc-ture is often already in place, whichmeans the IP camera can simply be con-nected to the nearest network connection.Simply set the IP address and you’reup and running! Adding more IP camerasto the system is as easy as the first one.

With the facility of Power over Ethernet(PoE) – supplying power directly over thenetwork cable – an external power supplyis unnecessary, making installation mucheasier. However, of course the cameracan be powered using a conventionalpower supply, if required.

CCIS1337 IP camera withHybrid Technology from Siemens

The entire range of fixed domecameras is “IP enabled” when usingthe optional IP module, whichallows images to be transmittedover an Ethernet network.

Up to 32 IP cameras can be connect-ed to the SISTORE MX system. Doingso allows true digital the recordingof the cameras and displaying themon a VGA monitor, and also providesthe full functionality of the digitalvideo recorder, such as motion andsabotage detection or alarm genera-tion.

Better images with any lightingconditions

Cameras from Siemens use amongstothers the latest double density DSPtechnology (Sony SS2-WD). By compen-sating underexposed or overexposedareas of the picture, the cameras candeliver the clearest image results evenwith difficult lighting conditions, such asin tunnels, brightly lit scenes, or stronglylit backgrounds.

All models feature back-light compensa-tion modes, that are used for enhancingobjects in back-lit scenes, which pre-viously would have been seen as silhou-ette. Additionally, the electronic shutterensures blur-free images even whenrecording fast moving objects. This isuseful for applications such as licenseplate recognition.

Optimal settings give the bestpictures

The cameras provide more than justtop-quality images. They are also ex-tremely easy to use. Configuration oftheir comprehensive functions is a sim-ple matter with the clear, logical OSDmenu.

As an alternative to configuration withthe OSD menu, cameras are availablewith simple DIP switches for setting func-tions.

Highly innovative 1/2" modelsAll 1/2" models have additional innovativefunctions. They have an integrated cameraidentification, which in monitoring systemswith multiple cameras allows each individ-ual unit to be addressed separately. Thisoffers particular advantages in conjunc-tion with RS485 interfaces, because itfacilitates convenient remote control.

Moreover, an alarm signal can cause fourdigital images to be stored in the camera. These pictures can then be accessedremotely.

Wide Dynamic ON

Accurately detailed colour imageplayback with up to 540 lines ofhorizontal resolution

The new super-high resolution CCBC1337and CCBS1337 models as well as the new IP camera CCIS1337 offer 540 lines ofhorizontal resolution and therefore en-sure pictures with the most detailed in-formation.

Remote configuration via RS485With the remote control software installedon a PC, a combination of up to 255cameras (colour cameras and day-nightcameras) can be addressed and configuredindividually on an RS485 bus. The settingscan not only be changed; they can alsobe saved or loaded onto a camera froma saved file. This facilitates fast, trouble-free configuration of a new camera.
