Match Spotlight: Connie and Angelica
This month we spotlight one of our longest matches, Big Sister Connie and Little Sister Angelica
Angelica was 7 years old on June 22, 2006 when they first met. Altough their match started off was rocky, Big Sister Connie was not deterred. With the help of the Big Brothers Big Sisters Match Support Specialist the relationship began to develop. As the match grew it developed into a great relationship.
Connie and Angelica are a very active match. They enjoy doing alot of different things, which include: boat rides, eating at the Texas Roadhouse, movies, a trip to the AJ Meerwald, the theater, bowling, Disney on Ice, Cirque du Soleil, and the annual Big Brothers Big Sisters picnic which included canoeing. Connie was the 2011 Big Sister of the Year for our agency, for her match with Angelica.
After 8 years and a rocky start, Connie and Angelica remain in an enduring, committed, trusting, friendship.
Way to go Connie and Angelica!
BIG Thanks
