ObituaryA Godly life ended October 11, 1993, when Mrs. Aleane A. Harris was taken from us. We know she is at rest with our heavenly Father. After years of health problems, the Lord took from her all pain and took her to Himself, where there is no pain and no burden of a tear.

Mrs. Harris was born August 6, 1930 in Augusta, Georgia to the late Oblee and Mary Andrews. At an early age, she was converted and baptized at Mount Calvary Baptist Church, Augusta, Georgia. She later moved her membership to Bethel A.M.E. Church.

She was married to John Harris, Jr. To this union seven children were born.

At Bethel, she was a faithful member of the Sanctuary Choir and assisted in the supervision of the Sunbeam Choir. Mrs. Harris loved the Lord. Even though her presence was limited once her health began to fail, her heart was with Bethel and her faith strong in the Lord.

Mrs. Harris was employed by the Medical College of Georgia for 25 years as a nursing assistant in labor and delivery. She retired in 1985 due to health problems.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, John H. Harris, Jr.; four daughters, Demetrist Bolton, Augusta, Ga., Deborah Hall, Greenville, S.C., Ava Harris, Greenville, S.C. and Tyvie Harris, Augusta, Ga.; three sons, Dwight Phinizy, Hampton, Va., Dennis Harris, Bloomington, Mn. and Derrick Harris, Cincinnatti, Oh.; one sister, Mary Bryant, Augusta, Ga.; two brothers, Oblee Andrews, Augusta, Ga. and Otis Andrews, Washington, D.C.; three daughters-in-law, Brenda Phinizy, Hampton, Va., Elaine Harris, Bloomington, Mn. and Cynthia Harris, Cincinnatti, Oh.; one son-in-law, Douglas Hall, Greenville, S.C.; eleven grandchildren, Germaine and Carlis Bolton, Augusta, Ga., Christine and Jessica Phinizy, Hampton, Va., Kevin, Keith, Kendal and Kory Harris, Bloomington, Mn., Brandi and Derrick Harris, Cincinnatti, Oh., Kristin Hall, Greenville, S.C.; one great-granddaughter, Jocelyn Bolton, Augusta, Ga.; three aunts, Katherine Thomas, Detroit, Mich., Gerleans Smith and Clyde Allison, Augusta, Ga.; two sisters-in-law, Lucille Andrews, Augusta, Ga. and Doris Andrews, Washington, D.C.; one brother-in-law, Charles Bryant, Augusta, Ga. and a host of other relatives and friends.
