Read this adventure story about a camping trip

Last weekend I went camping with my family, mum and dad, brother and my best friend Winnie. It was a cold but sunny day, we packed our suitcases into the boot of our car and headed south to Sai Kung.

After 1 hour or so we finally made it, the campsite was beautiful with a wooden hut surrounded by trees and a beautiful lake. It also had a walking trail where you can jog in the mornings or take late night walks.

By dinner time it was already getting dark, we all sat around the campfire roasting hotdogs and sausages, talking about weather and scenery. Suddenly, we heard crunching noises coming from in behind the trees, like the sound of footsteps walking on rocks. We held our sticks into the fire and yelled ‘’Who's there?!’’ but there was no reply. We thought maybe it was a squirrel or some kind of animal. Nervously, I took my stick of fire and walked around, and out popped a cat!

We all laughed and let him lick the leftovers off our plates. After an evening of talking, eating and playing games it was time to roast marshmallows and make smores while taking pictures! I took photos of my best friend eating, my dad sitting on a rock with my mom playing the guitar, the moon and our cool tent..

The next day we all went hiking up a huge hill, kayaking and met some really lovely people. It was such a wonderful weekend I hope to do again next summer!
