Needs for Sustainable Development in China

Page 3

In 20 years, China's cities will have added 350 million people—more than the entire population of the United States today or 2 New York cities a year.

The country’s urban population will reach 926 million by 2025 and top 1 billion by 2030

As part of the global deal to tackle climate change, China has pledged to slash its greenhouse emission gases per unit of economic output by 40-45% by 2020

Urban solutions create new global businesses

Presentation Notes
I was often asked - How do we measure the success of the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-city? This question could possibly be answered by looking at the 22 quantitative KPIs which provide technical guidance and development approaches to ensure that the Eco-city is practicable, scalable and replicable. However, the KPI framework is rather technical; I would not want to bother you with the details. Instead, I would like you all to follow me and imagine a day in the Eco-city.
