hapar University is nestled in the 250-acre campus of the Thapar Technology Campus. The entire Tinfrastructure, including various schools, laboratories, housing colonies, residential halls for students, eateries and sports facilities are conveniently located within the campus. However, the most striking feature of the campus is that over two-thirds of the area comprises of pristine greenery. The entry of motor vehicles is restricted; the air is unpolluted and clean. Support to students

Deserving and needy students are provided with a range of scholarships and fee waivers. This includes the Alumnus Ward Scholarship, GATE Scholarship and Teaching Assistantship, Merit Scholarships and other scholarships mandated by the government. Fee concessions and loan facilities are provided to a limited number of students.

In addition, the university bears the costs of a group insurance policy covering all students on campus.

Funded by the Government and the industry, these research projects are not merely intended to stimulate technological innovation. Utilisation of research results, transfer of technology and setting up of technology-driven businesses form the logical end to the numerous research projects that run concurrently at TU. The university has several centres of excellence that accommodate students and researchers from various disciplines.

Prominent research areas include biosensors and optical sensors, anti-microbial drug discovery, network surveillance, ferroelectric liquid crystals, wave propagation techniques and smart materials, and effect of burning crop residue on ambient air and human health.

he L M Thapar School of Management is named after one of India's leading industrialists, Tthe late Mr. Lalit Mohan Thapar. The school offers uniquely designed programmes on technology management, blending technology and management concepts. Students have the option to opt for any of three degrees: MBA (IT-Net), MBA (Manufacturing) and MBA (Energy Management). The BE-MBA programme provides dual academic certification.
