• The Lamai triangle is situated in the northern most tip of the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, between
the Masai Mara National Park in Kenya in the north, and the Mara River in the south.
• The Lamai triangle is a unique area in Tanzania due to its distinctive soil composition resulting in theone of
the highest wildlife concentrations in the Serengeti National Park.
• It is significantly less traversed than its neighbour, the Masai Mara in Kenya, with fewer vehicles and tourists
because of its remote location.
• Downriver from the Masai Mara in Kenya, this particular section of the Mara River becomes more spectacular
with greater water volume and thousands of resident crocodiles and hippos.
• This area will be serviced by Kogatende airstrip.
Style and Decor
• The exterior of the tents in this updated East African tented camp reflect functional East African design – neat,
tidy and structured.
• In direct contrast the tent interiors, designed by Cecile & Boyd’s, will reflect a bohemian-chic style of relaxed
cool, fully lined in breezy white cotton with white slip-covered chairs, creating a retreat-like atmosphere.
• Slouchy sofas and beds draped in multiple layers of hand-spun, natural fabrics offer guests a retreat from the
rugged landscape of the surrounding bush.
• Retro travel chests in pale wood, white polished metal, stone canvas and nude leather provide furniture as
desks, trousseau and side tables.
• Contemporary African crafts designed by young “now” African designers create a mix of funky and functional
in the tents, all adding to the bohemian glamour.
• Floors are woven in flax-grey grass matting inside and extend to driftwood-weathered decks outside.
• Masai red, black and primary blue colours and patterns will inject a necessary jewel sparkle into the camp’s
white, light, and natural style.
• Sumptuous and spacious decks encourage guests to live outside under the shade of sails, settling into
comfortable slip-covered chairs.
