Did you know there is lots of important security information and links on the NHW web page of the Orston Parish website? Please have a look!
Keeping Safe at Christmas The build up to Christmas can be enjoyable but also stressful. For peace of mind please remain vigilant against opportunist thieves. A few reminders below:
• When out shopping always park in a well-lit area or attended car park
• Try not to return to your car to leave purchases in the boot before continuing with your shopping and definitely don’t leave them on seats in full view. Thieves may well watch car parks for just such a chance
• Having bought wonderful presents, don't make it easy for someone to steal them. Keep presents out of sight until last thing on Christmas Eve
• If you 'hide' or store larger items such as bicycles in a shed or outbuilding ensure they are very secure
• Remember, empty boxes left outside advertise what new goods are inside - dispose of packing carefully.
• When shops are crowded, the pickpocket has more chance to steal from you. If you can't arrange to shop during less busy times, make sure you stay extra vigilant
Don’t let the criminal enjoy Christmas at your expense and ensure your holiday is a festive and happy one. Wishing you a Very Happy Xmas – your Neighbourhood Watch Team.
PLEASE NOTE It’s very important to report crimes as otherwise rural communities may not be given the required level of resourcing they deserve.

Orston Christmas Pageant 2019
6.15pm Christmas Eve, Orston Village Hall The first Orston Pageant was on Christmas Eve 1965, and is now into its 6th decade. Over that time it has attracted thousands of visitors to the village who participate in our celebrations and join in the carol service that follows.
Everyone is invited to partake as cast members, choristers and audience, and whatever the weather, the show goes on! Please note that a temporary road closure order along Loughbon & The Green is likely to be in place from 6.00-6.30pm.
If you want an excuse to dress up then please join in. You can come along as an angel (no age limit), shepherd, villager or soldier…..its up to you.
Any questions ring Nick Hammond on 07931758441 or email [email protected] or Jules on 07846 902453 / 01949 851598.
