SimView - Job Aid Configuring SimMan 3G/Essential for SimView

Before you can use your Instructor Application with SimView it needs to be configured:

These are the steps needed:

Step 1: Open your Instructor Application on the Instructor PC

Startup scenario Healthy Patient

Step 2: Select Tools - Profile Editor

Select a profile: We will use “default_us.ricfg”

Select “Open”

Step 3: When the Profile Configuration dialogue opens. Select the Tab “General”

Select “Use Video Server (AVS)” and type in the IP address of the PC running the Instructor Application or the SimView Extension. (Not the Video Server IP address)

It should be the “network” IP address of the computer you are currently working on

Select at least one camera and also if you want to record the Patient Monitor. You should then set the quality of the monitor recording to “High”

Be aware that the system treats the Patient Monitor as a “Camera”

Step 4: When you are finished: Select “File - Save as…” and save your new profile with a name that tells you that you are using this profile for recordings with SimView.

For example: “default_us SimView”

Step 5: When you select “Save” a dialogue pops up asking if you want to use this profile at the next simulation. If you answer “Yes” next dialogue tells you to start a new simulation to use the new profile.

Select “OK” and “Close” to exit the Profile Configuration and start a new simulation

You have now configured your Instructor Application to use SimView
