Objective The Offshore Familiarisation course is designed to provide safety awareness training for ratings assigned specific duties and responsibilities relating to cargo and other deck operations on board Offshore Support Vessels. Participants The course is designed for Integrated Ratings entering the offshore sector. The course is most suited to those with little or no experience in the offshore sector. Course Content Students completing this course will assimilate theoretical knowledge and gain practical (simulated) skills to support a range of offshore operations. The course covers:

• Offshore installation types; operations over view; MODU, jack-up, drillship, FPSO, etc. • Offshore vessel types and operations; AHTS, PSV, DSV, pipelay, construction, etc. • Offshore specific regulation; AMSA and MO 59. • Risk assessment processes and risk management tools. • Cargo operations scope of work; deck cargo handling including tubulars; ISOs; Mini-ISOs, reefers, open top

cargo, heavy lifts. • Bulk cargo procedures and hazards; dry and wet; NLS; colour coding, connections and manifold operations,

tank cleaning awareness. • Effective communication. • Perform offshore supply vessel duties in the simulator. • Conduct after action peer review of simulation cases.

Course Pre-requisites Participants to hold, or be undertaking a Certificate III in Transport and Distribution (Maritime Operations –Integrated Rating). Participants may benefit from having some previous offshore experience. Other industry personnel will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Language, Literacy and Numeracy Requirements There are no specific LL&N requirements for this course. The course is delivered in English.

Simulated Procedural Training

Assessment & Competency Achievement There is no formal assessment carried out at the completion of the course. 100% attendance and participation in the course is required. Participants will be awarded a Certificate of Training on completion of the course. Course Duration 2 Days: Day 1 8:30am to 4:30pm

Day 2 8:30am to 3:00pm

Course Fee and Additional Service Costs $3,146.00 ($2,860.00 + GST) This course fee includes lunch, and morning and afternoon tea at the center.
