UK Nationwide and Regional OutlookHIGHLIGHTS

Job vacancies rise across the nation. “The employment outlook is positive as the first half of 2011 comes to a close,” said Gautam Godhwani, SimplyHired.co.uk CEO. “June saw an increase in job vacancies in the major cities, indicating a renewed optimism throughout the UK. These findings are in line with a recent survey conducted by the Confederation of British Industry, which found that one-third of employers plan to take on more permanent staff before the end of the year.”

Blackpool leads in job creation. The seasonably warm weather is sending the crowds to the seaside and Blackpool’s job market is heating up as a result. With a 25.4% increase in job vacancies, the city saw the largest gain in June.

London tied with Bradford for lowest job gains. Despite a burst of job creation across the country, the capitol city saw the smallest increase in job creation. At only 4.7% growth, London was tied with Bradford as the slowest mover in June.
