Simple & Smart Protection for Data on the Move

Conseal® Security lets corporations and individuals maintain control and protection of data on the move. Its unique technology provides the highest level of security for data that travels via mobile storage devices to prevent that data from ending up in the wrong hands.

Conseal CD applies Conseal’s sophisticated yet simple to use protection to optical storage media such as CDs and DVDs. It allows administrators to regain control of their private data, even if the disc on which it’s stored is no longer in their hands.

• Cloud-based Management Console

Central to Conseal’s protection is its unique cloud-based

management console. Administrators can manage their

Consealed devices from afar, allowing protection to be

maintained even when the device is known to be in the

hands of an attacker.

The console also permits administrators to monitor and

manage usage of devices without needing any physical

access to the devices themselves.

• Remote self destruct

More Than Just EncryptionEven when strong encryption algorithms are used, traditional data protection methods are often insecure in practice. Conseal CD provides considerable security benefits without any added hassle.

Conseal CD Traditional Data Protection

✔ Secure: Dual Locks system means the protection

of the disc is not limited to the complexity of the

password.✘ Vulnerable to password guessing attempts.

Even fairly complex passwords can be cracked

in a matter of minutes.

✔ Secure: Conseal CD allows administrators to

immediately destroy the disc’s contents if it

falls into the wrong hands.✘ Vulnerable when in the hands of an attacker.

Attackers can work on breaking in at their leisure.

✔Secure: Access rules can be specified for

secured discs. Discs can only be unlocked by

certain people, using certain computers, at

certain times.

✘Vulnerable when obtained by a third party. If an

attacker were able to guess or obtain the

password they would have full and free access

to the data at any time, using any computer.

✔ Secure: Conseal CD alerts as soon as anyone

tries to access protected data, prompting

remedial action.✘ Vulnerable if lost without realising. A user

would not necessarily realise immediately if

a disc is lost.

• Cloud-based Management Console Central to Conseal’s protection is its unique cloud-based management

console. Administrators can manage their Consealed devices from afar,

allowing protection to be maintained even when the disc is known to be

in the hands of an attacker. The console also permits administrators to

monitor and manage usage of discs without needing any physical access to

the discs themselves.

• ‘Received’ receipt Where discs are sent via courier, Conseal allows senders to confirm that

they have reached their intended recipient. Email notification will be

sent when the receiver first unlocks the disc.

• Track and trace Conseal’s access log allows you to see a complete list of who has

attempted to access the disc’s protected contents. The log includes both

successful and unsuccessful attempts. This provides essential warning

that the disc may have been lost or stolen - which would otherwise not

necessarily be immediately noticed.

Logged information is designed to pinpoint precisely who made the access

attempt. It shows users’ internal and external IP addresses, MAC addresses,

drive serial numbers, system and login names, etc. This is designed to

provide sufficient information for law enforcement officers to investigate

unauthorised access. Conseal’s management console can also send email

warnings containing this information whenever someone attempts to

unlock the disc.

• Dual Locks and Access Controls Consealed devices are secured twice - one level of protection exists on

the disc itself and one on the management console. Conseal CD allows

you to control access to the CDs you produce, even after they have been

passed on to other people or are in transit. The management console

provides administrators with the tools to lock discs so they can only be

used within specific networks, IP address ranges or domains. Discs can

also be locked to specific computers (by MAC address and/or disk serial

number) and access even limited to certain times of day.

• Panic button If you know that your disc has been lost or is in the hands of an attacker, you

can immediately block all access to it. The disc’s contents will be permanently

scrambled. This works with all media, even write-once CDs and DVDs.

Critically, too, the disc remains unusable even if an attacker subsequently

finds out the password. This is also useful if the disc was intended for one

recipient only: once confirmation has been received that the disc has been

received and used, any further access to it can be prevented.

System Requirements

Minimum PC Requirements• Internal/External CD, DVD or Blu-ray writer

• Blank optical media:

- CD-R/RW

- DVD+-R/RW/RAM (inc Dual Layer)

- Blu-ray BD-R/RE (requires Windows 7)

Conseal CD works with the following operating systems• Windows XP (32-bit)

• Windows Vista (32 and 64-bit)

• Windows 7 (32 and 64-bit)

Management Console RequirementsThe web based management console with

all popular desktop browsers including

Conseal CD EncryptionConseal CD uses 256-bit AES encryption, which

is currently recognised to be unbeatable.

The encryption key used by Conseal CD is

never stored (even in encrypted form) on

the disk, nor on the central management

console, nor is it derivable from the password;

this ensures that the encryption cannot be

circumvented by the password or management

console account being compromised.

Conseal CD has a clear andeasy-to-use interface thatmakes securing removablestorage straightforwardand provides access topowerful protection features.
