Simple Past Tense: Regular and Irregular Verbs

Use the simple past tensesimple past tense to talk about actions, states, or situations that are now finished.

You can use the simple past tense with time expression that refer to the past such as last week , by 1681, in the seventeenth last week , by 1681, in the seventeenth century, century, oror 10 years ago. 10 years ago.

Remember the simple past of regular verbs is formed by adding –d–d or –ed–ed .
Be careful ! There are often spelling changes when you add –d or –ed to the verb
