ELECTRICALSHOCKHAZARD–TurnoffpoweratthemainservicepanelbyremovingthefuseorswitchingtheappropriatecircuitbreakertotheOFFpositionbeforeremovingtheexistingthermostat.

1. Turnoffpowertotheheatingandcoolingsystembyremovingthefuseorswitchingtheappropriatecircuitbreakeroff.

2. Removecoverofoldthermostat.Thisshouldexposethewires.

3. Labeltheexistingwireswiththeenclosedwirelabelsbeforeremovingwires.

4. Afterlabelingwires,removewiresfromwireterminals.

5. Removeexistingthermostatbasefromwall.

6. Refertothefollowingsectionforinstructionsonhowtoinstallthisthermostat.

ELECTRICALSHOCKHAZARD–TurnoffpoweratthemainservicepanelbyremovingthefuseorswitchingtheappropriatecircuitbreakertotheOFFpositionbeforeremovingtheexistingthermostat.

IMPORTANT:Thermostatinstallationmustconformtolocalandnationalbuildingandelectricalcodesandordinances.

Note:Mountthethermostataboutfivefeetabovethefloor.Donotmountthethermostatonanoutsidewall,indirectsunlight,behindadoor,orinanareaaffectedbyaventorduct.

1. Turnoffpowertotheheatingandcoolingsystembyremovingthefuseorswitchingtheappropriatecircuitbreakeroff.

3. Putthermostatbaseagainstthewallwhereyouplantomountit(Besurewireswillfeedthroughthewireopeninginthebaseofthethermostat).

4. Marktheplacementofthemountingholes.

5. Setthermostatbaseandcoverawayfromworkingarea.

6. Usinga3/16”drillbit,drillholesintheplacesyouhavemarkedformounting.

7. Useahammertotapsuppliedanchorsinmountingholes.

8. Alignthermostatbasewithmountingholesandfeedthecontrolwiresthroughwireopening.

9. Usesuppliedscrewstomountthermostatbasetowall.

10. Insertstripped,labeledwiresinmatchingwireterminals.See“WiringDiagrams”sectionofthismanual(Page5).

CAUTION!:Besureexposedportionofwiresdoesnottouchotherwires.

11. Tightenscrewsonterminalblock.Gentlytugwiretobesureofproperconnection.Doublecheckthateachwireisconnectedtotheproperterminal.

12. Sealholeforwiresbehindthermostatwithnon-flammableinsulationorputty,oruseanICMinsulatedwallplate(ACC-WP01).

13. SettheGas/Electricswithtoelectricorgas/oil.

14. Installtwo“AA”alkalinebatteries(ifrequiredperwiringdiagramsonPages5-9)inthethermostatorientedinthedirectionshownonthebatteryholder.

15. Replacecoveronthermostatbysnappingitinplace.

16. Turnonpowertothesystematthemainservicepanel.

17. Testthermostatoperationasdescribedin“TestingtheThermostat”(Page13).

TheconfigurationmodeisusedtosettheSC2010tomatchyourheating/coolingsystem.TheSC2010functionswithheatpump,airconditioning,gas,oilorelectricheatsystems.

ToconfiguretheSC2010,performthefollowingsteps:1. Removethecoverofthethermostatbygentlypullingononeofthecorners.2. SimultaneouslyholdtheSW5andSW6buttonsinfor5secondswhiletheSC2010isinOFFmode.3. Pressthe or buttontochangesettingswithineachscreen.4. PresstheSW6buttontoadvancetothenextscreen. Note:TheSW5buttonwillreturnyoutothepreviousscreen.

5. Toexitconfigurationmode,slidetheModeswitchtoHeatorCool.

TheSC2010isasingle-stageheat,single-stagecoolthermostat.Itfunctionswithairconditioning,heatpumps,gas,oilorelectricheat.

TheSC2010canuse24VACorbatteriesasapowersupply.TheSC2010canbehardwiredandhavenobatteriesinstalledinthebatterycompartment.Itcanalsorunonbatterypoweronly.Whenbatteriesareinstalledandthethermostatishardwired,thebatterieswillrunthethermostatduringapoweroutage.

Whenoperatingonbatterypower,thebacklightwillbeonfor5secondintervals.Whenhardwired,thebacklightwillbeonfor10secondintervals.

Thethermostatactivatesaheatingappliancewhentheroomtemperatureisbelowtheheatsettemperature(bythedifferentialtemperature).Itwillturnoffwhentheroomtemperatureisonedegreeabovetheheatsettemperature.Withheatpumps,thethermostatwillnotletthecompressorcomeonforfiveminutesafteritturnsoff.Thisprotectsyourcompressor.

Whentheroomtemperatureisgreaterthanthecoolsettemperature(bythedifferentialtemperature),thecoolingdeviceisactivated.Itwillturnoffwhentheroomtemperatureisonedegreebelowthecoolsettemperature.Thethermostatwillnotletthecompressorcomeonforfiveminutesafteritturnsoff.Thisprotectsyourcompressor.

TheSC2010hasthefollowingoperatingmodes:OFF,HeatandCool.InOFFmode,thethermostatwillnotturnonheatingorcoolingdevices.IntheHeatmode,thethermostatcontrolstheheatingsystem.IntheCoolmode,thethermostatcontrolsthecoolingsystem.TheindoorfancanbeturnedoninalloperatingmodesusingtheFanswitch.
