Project : British Columbia Greenfield Refinery, Canada (Feasibility Study)

Description: Pacific Future Energy Co. is committed to build and operate the world’sgreenest refinery on British Columbia’s north coast.

PFEC believes it is in Canada’s national strategic interest to gain access to internationalmarkets for Alberta’s oil, especially the fast growing Asian market.

The company believes it should not be done at the sacrifice of BC’s coast or broaderenvironment and must be done in full partnership with First Nations.

The $10 Billion refinery will be built in modules (each phase having a process capacityof 200,000 BPSD).

Project : New Naphtha Hydrotreating Unit, Italy (Basic Design)

Description:

The scope of the Basic Design Package is a new naphtha hydrotreating unit namedHDT-3.

HDT-3 will produce 450,000 tons per year of hydrotreated Naphtha containing lessthan 0.5 ppmw of sulphur and 24,000 tons per year of olefin saturated LPG with targetspecification Pro Isomerization.

The plant will include a refurbished hydrotreating reactor and new pumps, heatexchangers in the preheating trains, fired heater, three-phase separators, reboiledstripper distillation tower, associated utilities, LPG and off-gas amine gas treatingpackages, recycle / make-up gas compressor package and control systems.

Description :

Project scope is a major revamping of the existing Kerosene HydrodesulphurizationUnit (HDS-1) to expand the capacity from 2,400 to 4,000 t/d.

Improvement of product quality to target specification Pro Clear and Bright andmaximum S content of 10 ppm are also foreseen.

New feed pumps, stripper, kero dryer and heat exchange train are being installed.

Description :

Project scope is the installation of a new Vacuum Column & Automatic FiltrationSystem on the Slurry Oil stream produced by the existing FCC Plant of the Refinery.

The purpose of the new Unit is:1) to recover additional LVGO as feed for the Hydrocracking Unit2) to increase Slurry Oil flash point3) to remove the catalyst fines in order to feed the Clarified Oil (CLO) stream to the

Project : Carbon Dioxide Removal Unit (FEED + Detail Design + ProcurementServices)

Description:

Project scope was the Detail Design, the Equipment & Bulk Material Procurement andthe Home Office Project Management Services for the 10,000 Nm3/h Carbon DioxideRemoval Unit at an iron ore reduction plant.

The Unit, based on Giammarco-Vetrocoke hot carbonate process, was extensivelymodularized in order to facilitate the construction utilizing local labour.

Description :

The project was carried out providing our Client with the EPC Tender Documents forn.3 new gas platforms located offshore Adriatic Sea and the relevant ± 15% CostEstimate.

SIMECO developed the Front End Engineering Design according to the following mainspecifications:

Project : OLT Livorno FSRU, Italy (Detail Design)

Description:

The world’s first offshore Floating Storage and Regassification Unit (FSRU) wasconstructed by converting the LNG Carrier Golar Frost.

The FSRU is permanently moored offshore Livorno, Italy, about 12 miles from the coastin a water depth of about 120 meters and connected to shore through a gas exportpipeline.

Storage capacity is 137,000 cubic meters of LNG in four spheres.

Production capacity is 3,75 billion standard cubic meters year (bscmpa).

Project : Zubair Degassing Station, Iraq (FEED)

Description :

Project scope was the development of the Front End Engineering Design for a new OilDegassing Station (DGS) and rehabilitation of an existing one at Zubair field, Iraq.

The Zubair field - being developed by Eni with Occidental Oil Co., Korean Gas andMissan Oil Company - with an estimated production capacity of 1,200,000 BOPD is oneof the few super giant oil field presently developed worldwide.

Zubair is a “brown field” project involving the realization of new plants as well as therevamping of existing unit.

Project : Electrically Traced Transfer Line for Liquid Sulfur at Eni’s TarantoRefinery, Italy (EPC)

Description:

Project scope was the installation of a new 4’’ x 1 km Liquid Sulfur transfer line fromthe Sulfur storage tanks to the flaker unit producing solid sulfur flakes.

The un-flanged transfer line is electrically heated by a skin effect tracing systemcapable to re-melt the sulfur in case of in line solidification.

Project : EST Project at Eni’s Sannazzaro Refinery, Italy (Detail Design)

Description: EST (Eni Slurry Technology) is a new deep hydrocracking technologydeveloped by Eni for the valorization of heavy and extra heavy oils, tar sands andrefinery residues.

Sannazzaro Plant, with a capacity of 20,000 BPSD, will be the first industrial applicationof the EST technology, which has been extensively tested in a CommercialDemonstration Unit in Italy.

EST plant features n.2 x 2,000 t hydro-cracking reactors made of CrMoV + SS 347 WeldOverlay, supplied by GE-Nuovo Pignone, the largest built ever.

SIMECO has been in charge for the Technical Bid Evaluation and the follow-up of thehydro-cracking reactors, hydro-treating reactors (400 t) and large HP Gas/LiquidSeparators (300 t) made of CrMoV (supplied by ATB).

Project : C4 Dryers Package at Eni’s Sannazzaro Refinery, Italy (EPC)

Description:

The new C4 Dryer Package was designed to remove impurities (water, acetone,acetonitryle) from a C4 Olefinic Stream , feeding the existing Isomerization Unit.

The purification is obtained throughout adsorbents continuously regenerated. Theregeneration unit includes a hydrogenation reactor to remove to reduce olefins contentfrom the adsorbent regeneration stream.

The Unit is entirely installed on a steel structure “straddling” an existing pipe-way in avery congested area of the Refinery.

Year: 2009

Project : GOSP at Burun Oil Field, Turkmenistan (BDP review and assessment)

Description:

The Gas Oil Separation Plant (GOSP) at Burun Oil Field had some trouble operations,i.e. sand carry over, clogging of filters by paraffines contained in the crude oil and HSEissues.

The Scope of Work was to carry out, on a very tight schedule, a review of the existingBDP developed by the previous Owner of the Oil Field in order to solve the operatingproblems.

Each document of the BDP was reviewed and several inconsistencies were identified.For each document a Comment Sheet was produced.

Eventually, recommendations have been provided to Company regarding thepossibility to use the BDP as a basis for an EPC bid to de-bottleneck the Plant.

Year: 2008-2009

Project : Underground Gas Storage, Italy (Detail Design)

Description: Bordolano is a depleted gas field, 50 km from Milan (Italy), owned bySNAM Rete Gas/STOGIT (Stoccaggi Gas Italia).

STOGIT intended to convert the existing reservoir into an Underground Gas Storage.

The Plant consisted of a temporary gas compression and Injection station, called EarlyInjection Station, withdrawing natural gas from the national pipeline network ownedby Snam Rete Gas. Natural Gas was collected and delivered to the reservoir through 2new pipelines.

The Early Injection Station was dismantled once completed the injection phase of thecushion gas in the reservoir.

Description:

The Project include N. 2 complete Ammonia Plants (Licensor Haldor Topsoe A/S -design capacity 2 x 2,200 t/d) based on Steam Reforming of Natural Gas consisting ofthe following process systems:Natural gas desulphurization; Process Air Compression; Steam Reforming of NaturalGas and Waste Heat Recovery; HT & LT Shift Converters; CO2 removal by MDEA;Methanation; Syngas Compression; Ammonia Synthesis Loop; Ammonia Refrigeration;Purge Gas Scrubbing & Hydrogen Recovery; Process Condensate Stripper; Deaerator& BFW pumps.

Project : Revamping of Marine Loading Arms, Italy

Description :

The Project consisted of two Phases:

During Phase 1, 4 x 16” existing Crude Oil Loading Arms at Pier 2/Mooring 5 weredismantled and replaced with 3 x 16’’ Loading Arms. During Phase 2, the sameoperation, as per Phase 1, were carried out on Pier 2 / Mooring 6.

FMC Technologies were in charge for the supply of the Loading Arms. SIMECOprovided Engineering Services, Procurement of piping materials and Supervisionduring Erection, Commissioning and Start-up.

Description:

The project included:• n.1 single buoy mooring system (water depth 50 m)• n.2 24’’ x 2.2 km sealines + n.2 24’’ x 1.15 km on-shore lines for transfer of fuel oil; • n.2 22’’ x 2.2 km sealines + n.2 22’’ x 4.7 km on-shore lines for transfer of light

petroleum products (i.e. gasoline, kerosene, diesel).

SIMECO carried out the basic design for the single buoy mooring system and the pipelines.

The type of foundations have been designed based on site geological data, while metocean data (wind, waves, streams,….) have been used as a basis for the mooring study in order to select the most suitable mooring equipment.

The revamping consisted in dismantling the existing power generation units and theirreplacement with a new gas turbine (aero derivative type), installation of n.2endothermic engines with waste heat boilers for power generation and production ofhot water, n.3 auxiliary boilers, n.10 buffer tanks for hot water distribution to theexisting district heating network, n.1 new pumping station, new electrical room, newtechnical room.

SIMECO Scope of Work included also +/- 15% cost estimate and preparation of theEPC Tender Documents.

A GRP fixed roofing system, pressurized with nitrogen, is provided on the APISeparator basins to recover and neutralize hazardous vapors.

The New Cryogenic Condensation Unit was designed to reduce emissions of VOC(Volatile Organic Compounds) to the atmosphere, in compliance with the most recentEU environmental standards.

The 193km road starts from Namtumbo and runs through woodland, bush land thicket andgrasslands and crosses Selous-Niassa wildlife corridor over a 40 km stretch and ends inthe center of the Tunduru District. The final objective of the assignment is to undertakeconsultancy services on behalf of TANROADS for the design review, pre-contractservices and supervision of construction works.
