Project : British Columbia Greenfield Refinery, Canada (Feasibility Study)

Description: Pacific Future Energy Co. is committed to build and operate the world’sgreenest refinery on British Columbia’s north coast.

PFEC believes it is in Canada’s national strategic interest to gain access to internationalmarkets for Alberta’s oil, especially the fast growing Asian market.

The company believes it should not be done at the sacrifice of BC’s coast or broaderenvironment and must be done in full partnership with First Nations.

The $10 Billion refinery will be built in modules (each phase having a process capacityof 200,000 BPSD).

Project : New Naphtha Hydrotreating Unit, Italy (Basic Design)

Description:

The scope of the Basic Design Package is a new naphtha hydrotreating unit namedHDT-3.

HDT-3 will produce 450,000 tons per year of hydrotreated Naphtha containing lessthan 0.5 ppmw of sulphur and 24,000 tons per year of olefin saturated LPG with targetspecification Pro Isomerization.

The plant will include a refurbished hydrotreating reactor and new pumps, heatexchangers in the preheating trains, fired heater, three-phase separators, reboiledstripper distillation tower, associated utilities, LPG and off-gas amine gas treatingpackages, recycle / make-up gas compressor package and control systems.

Project : Revamping of Kerosene Desulphurization Unit, Italy (EPC)

Description :

Project scope is a major revamping of the existing Kerosene HydrodesulphurizationUnit (HDS-1) to expand the capacity from 2,400 to 4,000 t/d.

Improvement of product quality to target specification Pro Clear and Bright andmaximum S content of 10 ppm are also foreseen.

New feed pumps, stripper, kero dryer and heat exchange train are being installed.

Project : Vacuum Column & Filtration System for FCC Slurry Oil (EPC)

Description :

Project scope is the installation of a new Vacuum Column & Automatic FiltrationSystem on the Slurry Oil stream produced by the existing FCC Plant of the Refinery.

The purpose of the new Unit is:1) to recover additional LVGO as feed for the Hydrocracking Unit2) to increase Slurry Oil flash point3) to remove the catalyst fines in order to feed the Clarified Oil (CLO) stream to the

existing Gasification Plant or to recycle it to the FCC riser .

Project : Carbon Dioxide Removal Unit (FEED + Detail Design + ProcurementServices)

Description:

Project scope was the Detail Design, the Equipment & Bulk Material Procurement andthe Home Office Project Management Services for the 10,000 Nm3/h Carbon DioxideRemoval Unit at an iron ore reduction plant.

The Unit, based on Giammarco-Vetrocoke hot carbonate process, was extensivelymodularized in order to facilitate the construction utilizing local labour.

Project: Fauzia, Elettra & Benedetta Platforms, Adriatic Sea (FEED)

Description :

The project was carried out providing our Client with the EPC Tender Documents forn.3 new gas platforms located offshore Adriatic Sea and the relevant ± 15% CostEstimate.

SIMECO developed the Front End Engineering Design according to the following mainspecifications:

• FAUZIA PLATFORM: 12” export sealine; n° 2 wellheads double completion; 3-legsjacket.

• ELETTRA PLATFORM: 8” export sealine; n° 1 wellhead double completion; 3-legsjacket.

Project : OLT Livorno FSRU, Italy (Detail Design)

Description:

The world’s first offshore Floating Storage and Regassification Unit (FSRU) wasconstructed by converting the LNG Carrier Golar Frost.

The FSRU is permanently moored offshore Livorno, Italy, about 12 miles from the coastin a water depth of about 120 meters and connected to shore through a gas exportpipeline.

Storage capacity is 137,000 cubic meters of LNG in four spheres.

Production capacity is 3,75 billion standard cubic meters year (bscmpa).

Project : Zubair Degassing Station, Iraq (FEED)

Description :

Project scope was the development of the Front End Engineering Design for a new OilDegassing Station (DGS) and rehabilitation of an existing one at Zubair field, Iraq.

The Zubair field - being developed by Eni with Occidental Oil Co., Korean Gas andMissan Oil Company - with an estimated production capacity of 1,200,000 BOPD is oneof the few super giant oil field presently developed worldwide.

Zubair is a “brown field” project involving the realization of new plants as well as therevamping of existing unit.

Project : Electrically Traced Transfer Line for Liquid Sulfur at Eni’s TarantoRefinery, Italy (EPC)

Description:

Project scope was the installation of a new 4’’ x 1 km Liquid Sulfur transfer line fromthe Sulfur storage tanks to the flaker unit producing solid sulfur flakes.

The un-flanged transfer line is electrically heated by a skin effect tracing systemcapable to re-melt the sulfur in case of in line solidification.

Project : EST Project at Eni’s Sannazzaro Refinery, Italy (Detail Design)

Description: EST (Eni Slurry Technology) is a new deep hydrocracking technologydeveloped by Eni for the valorization of heavy and extra heavy oils, tar sands andrefinery residues.

Sannazzaro Plant, with a capacity of 20,000 BPSD, will be the first industrial applicationof the EST technology, which has been extensively tested in a CommercialDemonstration Unit in Italy.

EST plant features n.2 x 2,000 t hydro-cracking reactors made of CrMoV + SS 347 WeldOverlay, supplied by GE-Nuovo Pignone, the largest built ever.

SIMECO has been in charge for the Technical Bid Evaluation and the follow-up of thehydro-cracking reactors, hydro-treating reactors (400 t) and large HP Gas/LiquidSeparators (300 t) made of CrMoV (supplied by ATB).

Project : C4 Dryers Package at Eni’s Sannazzaro Refinery, Italy (EPC)

Description:

The new C4 Dryer Package was designed to remove impurities (water, acetone,acetonitryle) from a C4 Olefinic Stream , feeding the existing Isomerization Unit.

The purification is obtained throughout adsorbents continuously regenerated. Theregeneration unit includes a hydrogenation reactor to remove to reduce olefins contentfrom the adsorbent regeneration stream.

The Unit is entirely installed on a steel structure “straddling” an existing pipe-way in avery congested area of the Refinery.

Project : GOSP at Burun Oil Field, Turkmenistan (BDP review and assessment)

Description:

The Gas Oil Separation Plant (GOSP) at Burun Oil Field had some trouble operations,i.e. sand carry over, clogging of filters by paraffines contained in the crude oil and HSEissues.

The Scope of Work was to carry out, on a very tight schedule, a review of the existingBDP developed by the previous Owner of the Oil Field in order to solve the operatingproblems.

Each document of the BDP was reviewed and several inconsistencies were identified.For each document a Comment Sheet was produced.

Eventually, recommendations have been provided to Company regarding thepossibility to use the BDP as a basis for an EPC bid to de-bottleneck the Plant.

Project : Underground Gas Storage, Italy (Detail Design)

Description: Bordolano is a depleted gas field, 50 km from Milan (Italy), owned bySNAM Rete Gas/STOGIT (Stoccaggi Gas Italia).

STOGIT intended to convert the existing reservoir into an Underground Gas Storage.

The Plant consisted of a temporary gas compression and Injection station, called EarlyInjection Station, withdrawing natural gas from the national pipeline network ownedby Snam Rete Gas. Natural Gas was collected and delivered to the reservoir through 2new pipelines.

The Early Injection Station was dismantled once completed the injection phase of thecushion gas in the reservoir.

Description:

Project: NKNK LLDPE/HDPE Plant, Russia (Detail Design)

Description: NKNK (Nizhnekamsk Neftekhim) LLDPE/HDPE is a Polyethylene Plantbased on the Spherilene Process Technology from Basell Italia.

The plant annual capacity is 230,000 MTPY of polyethylene in pallets, HDPE, MDPEand LLDPR type.

The units included in the engineering activities were: Polymerization Area, ExtrusionArea, Alkyl Area, Homogenization, Bagging, Palletizing and Warehouse,Interconnecting & Pipe Racks, Effluent Basin, Purification, Propane Storage, ControlRoom and Substation, Valve House, Flare Area, Underground.

Project : Water Injection Plant & Power Generation System, El Feel Field, Libya(FEED)

Description : The Water Injection Plant (275,000 BWPD) consists of:Water Supply System, including Oil / Water separation by induced gas flotation,Filtration and Chemicals Injection Systems.

Injection Water System, consisting of: Buffer Tank, Injection Water Booster Pumps,Injection Water Pumps.

Gathering System, consisting of n. 5 Trunk-lines up to 24’’ x 38 km

The Power Generation Systems (50 MWe) consisting of: n. 3+1 Heavy Duty GasTurbines GE FR5-1 Dual Fuel fed with Crude Oil (chemically treated for V inhibition)or Natural Gas.

New dedicated Control Room & Electrical Sub-Station.

Contract Value (LSTK): Phase 1 – 2.7 M€, Phase 2 – 2.9 M€

Project : Revamping of Marine Loading Arms, Italy

Description :

The Project consisted of two Phases:

During Phase 1, 4 x 16” existing Crude Oil Loading Arms at Pier 2/Mooring 5 weredismantled and replaced with 3 x 16’’ Loading Arms. During Phase 2, the sameoperation, as per Phase 1, were carried out on Pier 2 / Mooring 6.

FMC Technologies were in charge for the supply of the Loading Arms. SIMECOprovided Engineering Services, Procurement of piping materials and Supervisionduring Erection, Commissioning and Start-up.

Description:

Sannazzaro’s ISOCRACKER is a 25,000 BPSD Hydrocracking Plant based on ChevronLummus Global technology.

Scope of the Engineering Services executed by SIMECO and Partners included theMain Process Units along with the following Auxiliary Units:• Sour Water Stripper Unit• Amine Regeneration Unit• Interconnecting• Off-sites• Cooling Water Unit.

Project : FCC GASOLINE HDS Unit at Eni’s Sannazzaro Refinery, Italy (DetailDesign)

Description:

Sannazzaro’s FCC Gasoline Hydrodesulphurization Unit is a 20,000 BPSD plant basedon CDHYDRO catalytic distillation technology by CDTECH.

Auxiliary Units were also included in the SOW.

Project: Topping 2 Revamping Project at Eni’s Sannazzaro Refinery, Italy (DetailDesign)

Description:

Topping 2 was originally designed to process 715 t/h of Arabian Light Crude Oil.A major de-bottlenecking to process up to 770 t/h of Djeno Melange Crude Oil wasrequired.

The revamping consisted of:

• Addition of a new Pre-flash Column upstream of the existing Topping Columnalong with relevant Heaters and Pumps;

• Design of new steel structures Complete review/check of the existing Utilities andOff-sites systems, i.e. BD, Utilities, Closed Drain.

Year: 2003-2004

Project : Genoa De-bottlenecking Project, Italy (Detail Design)

Description:

Underground interconnecting to upgrade and rationalize the 100 years old oil productsoffloading marine terminal in Genoa.

“Trench-less” and “micro-tunnel” technologies have been deployed due to the verypopulated and geologically critical areas.

4 x 30” + 2 x 12” pipelines have been laid down in a 2.6 m x 650 m micro tunnelbetween Genoa Marine Oil Terminal and Praoil Petroleum Products Depot & PumpingBooster Station.

Year: 2001-2003

Project : Spent Lube Oil Re-refining Plant and Offsites Revamping , Italy (FEED +Detail Design + Procurement Services)

Description:

VISCOLUBE is the European leader in re-refining of spent lube oils, with over 60,000MTPY of reclaimed oils.

The Spent Lube Oil Hydrotreating Unit is based on Axens technology.

The Plant includes a Hydrogen Generation Unit designed by CALORIC Anlagenbau(Germany). CALORIC is a firm specialized in supply of gas generation plant package,i.e.: syngas, carbon monoxide, hydrogen.

Venice Refinery scope was to convert San Leonardo Crude Oil receiving terminal to finished product terminal for ship with DWT variable between 10.000 to 80.000 Tons.The Feasibility Study included: • the verification about the possibility to re-use the existing loading arms; • the study of the modification of the existing lines in order to optimize discharge rates

and operability;• the verification of the mooring systems, including:

Description:

Project: Study of petroleum products transfer operations under steady state andtransient conditions

Description:

The main purpose of the study was to carry out the Conceptual Design of a system toprotect the lines and the loading arms from overpressures during operations

The activities carried included:

• Steady state analysis of loading/unloading operations to determine themaximum allowe transfer rates.

• Transient state analsysis of the pressure peak over the lines and the loading incase of emergency shut down (i.e. water hammer effect due to block valve closure)

• Conceptual Design of the High Integrity Pressure Protection System (HIPPS).

Project: Trans Anatolian Pipeline, Turkey (Conceptual Design + FEED).

Description : The Project included the following facilities: A new unloading terminallocated east of Samsun, on the Black Sea, suitable for handling a wide range of tankers,including VLCCs, through three (3) Single Point Moorings and relevant unloadingfacilities; A new tank farm located east of Samsun, on the Black Sea, featuring 12floating roof storage tanks (total net capacity of 1,500,000 m3), including all relevantfacilities and a new dedicated power plant; A 48”and 42” (for the last section), 550 kmlong carbon steel pipeline provided with a Pressure Reducing Station (PRS), mainlineisolation block valves and pigging trap systems; One head pump station (PS1) locatedat the unloading terminal on the Black Sea and three additional pump stations (PS2,PS3, PS4) located along the route of the TAP pipeline at different elevations, providedwith power generation and all required facilities such as control rooms,accommodation, security and maintenance buildings; A new tank farm located atCeyhan, featuring 12 floating roof storage tanks (total net capacity of 1,800,000 m3),including all relevant facilities; A new jetty marine loading terminal, on theMediterranean Sea, located in front of the new Ceyhan tank farm, suitable for a widerange of tankers, including VLCCs..

Project: Civitavecchia New Oil Terminal – Basic Design

Description:

The project included:• n.1 single buoy mooring system (water depth 50 m)• n.2 24’’ x 2.2 km sealines + n.2 24’’ x 1.15 km on-shore lines for transfer of fuel oil; • n.2 22’’ x 2.2 km sealines + n.2 22’’ x 4.7 km on-shore lines for transfer of light

petroleum products (i.e. gasoline, kerosene, diesel).

SIMECO carried out the basic design for the single buoy mooring system and the pipelines.

The type of foundations have been designed based on site geological data, while metocean data (wind, waves, streams,….) have been used as a basis for the mooring study in order to select the most suitable mooring equipment.

Project : Combined Heat & Power Plant Revamping , Italy (FEED)

Description:

Project scope was the Front End Engineering Design for the revamping of EnipowerCombined Heat & Power Plant located in Bolgiano, San Donato Milanese, Italy.

The revamping consisted in dismantling the existing power generation units and theirreplacement with a new gas turbine (aero derivative type), installation of n.2endothermic engines with waste heat boilers for power generation and production ofhot water, n.3 auxiliary boilers, n.10 buffer tanks for hot water distribution to theexisting district heating network, n.1 new pumping station, new electrical room, newtechnical room.

SIMECO Scope of Work included also +/- 15% cost estimate and preparation of theEPC Tender Documents.

Description:

Project scope is the installation of a new Waste Water Treatment Package to process 740m3/h of water discharged from the existing Refinery Water Treatment System, toobtain permeated desalted water (conductivity < 100 µS/cm, hardness < 5 mg/l asCaCO3 ) suitable for steam generation.

The purpose of the new Unit is to recycle water previously discharged to theenvironment in order to feed the existing demineralized water production system forthe requirements of the new Process Plants .

Project: TAS (Waste Water Treatment) Covering System at Sarroch PetrochemicalComplex, Italy (EPC)

Description:

The New Unit recovers as condensate the vapors produced at existing jetty on oiltankers during loading operations and as well the vapors produced in the APISeparator basins.

A GRP fixed roofing system, pressurized with nitrogen, is provided on the APISeparator basins to recover and neutralize hazardous vapors.

The New Cryogenic Condensation Unit was designed to reduce emissions of VOC(Volatile Organic Compounds) to the atmosphere, in compliance with the most recentEU environmental standards.

The 193km road starts from Namtumbo and runs through woodland, bush land thicket andgrasslands and crosses Selous-Niassa wildlife corridor over a 40 km stretch and ends inthe center of the Tunduru District. The final objective of the assignment is to undertakeconsultancy services on behalf of TANROADS for the design review, pre-contractservices and supervision of construction works.

Description : The main objective of the project is to rebuild the Nat ional Road RN5A,between the cities of Sambava and Antalaha, in the north-east of the island. This road is180 km long, included 1.5 km of urban road inside the city of Antalaha, road inbituminous concrete pavement. The construction and rehabilitation works on this roadaim at the economic development of the region the main tasks concern the constructionand reconstruction of different bridges and the building of riprap foundation of theharbor infrastructures.
