Silver Sunday events launch on Thursday 25 September and run until the Friday 17 October.
Silver Sunday is on 5 October and there are some very special events happening to mark the day.
There will be free activities and events happening across the borough to help you meet people and try new things.
The activities are open to anyone aged 65 or over and their carers.
The celebrations will introduce you to many community groups and Council services which are on offer throughout the year. This programme will provide you with contact numbers so you can find more information.
All activities are free of charge unless otherwise specified. The dates and times are listed. Most activities do not require advance booking and are open to all on a first come first served basis on the day. Any event that requires advance booking will be clearly flagged with relevant contact details. You are welcome to attend as many activities as you wish.
So find an event, find a date, find a time that suits you and come and join us!

Silver Sunday activities in the north of the borough
OctaviaOctavia Housing and Care provides more than 4,000 quality affordable homes in inner London. Octavia Housing founded the Octavia Foundation, which in turn is delivering a programme of activities that have had a positive impact on communities and individuals.

St Charles community kitchen garden harvest open day The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea’s community kitchen garden scheme supports over 50 community gardens in the borough. On the Sunday 5 October we will be showing visitors around the garden, with a food taster session using freshly picked produce. Age UK K&CAge UK Kensington and Chelsea is a local charity working to ensure that older people’s voices are heard and their independence is supported. In addition to founding the borough’s local Dementia Action Alliance it provides services to older people including homecare, IT, coaching, volunteer escorts, befrienders, de-cluttering, information and advice and support for carers, older people and people with dementia.
Memories cafeAge UK K&C My Memories Café in Notting Hill a social support group for people with dementia or memory problems and their friends/family/carers living in the north of the borough. Open AgeOpen Age is a user led charity enabling older people, from 50 to over 100 to sustain their physical and mental fitness, maintain active lifestyles and develop new and stimulating interests.
The charity provides a wide range of physical, creative and mentally stimulating activities to enable older people to meet new friends, develop new skills and enjoy an active older age including support back into employment and training. With over 380 weekly activities provided from more than 60 sites there is an activity and venue to suit most people. The following is just a taste of what is on offer.
