Hello, Tēnā koutou katoa, 你好, Nǐ hǎo

Kids Corner

Writing from Room 18.

Moments in the Rain

I am in the rain, I can see tiny raindrops making

a huge swirling pattern as I throw the water in

the air. I hear children around me laughing as I

jump into the spreading raindrops. It smells like

soaked carpet that’s been left out in the rain. I

feel the rain rushing down tickling my body all

over. When I rush outside I can taste the light

salty circles of water crumbling down into my

mouth.

Milly

I could feel the wet water sinking between my

toes. Splashes of freezing water pouring over

me. Suddenly I jump up with buckets of

rainwater then little drops of clear water starts

falling down onto the ground with a loud

smack. My friends were laughing as hard as they

could as the icy cold water pours on them.

Nini

I can see little drops of icy water splashing on

the sof grass. Splish, splash, splosh. I could hear

water falling down on my head. The water felt

so cold and tingling on my black silky hair.

Sniffing the air I could smell total coldness of

cool air. Sticking out my red tongue, water like

snowflakes fell on my tongue.

Entertainment Book Fundraiser

An Entertainment Book was been sent home with your child last week. This book can be

purchased for $70 and the discount vouchers used at a variety of outlets throughout NZ. A

great idea with the school holidays approaching.

The school receives $14 for every book sold. Payment instructions can be found on the

outside of the envelope.

Please return all unwanted books to the school by the end of term.

A Massive thank you to Bunnings Silverdale for

donating bags of potting mix, compost, seed raising

mix, seeds and garden stakes. These have already

been put to good use out the back. If you haven’t

been out to have a look, please do so! Team Pukeko

has been working very hard, creating new garden

beds and planting a range of yummy edibles for our

kitchen sessions. Once again - Thank you Bunnings for

all your support!

Colour Rush final information

We are looking forward to seeing everyone on 28 April. The fun gets underway at

11.15am sharp, however you will need to come to the registration desk between

10.30am-11am to get your wristband to participate. Some helpful tips for the day:

· You will get a bit wet and definitely quite colourful. We suggest packing a

spare change of clothes for afterwards

· Some kids prefer to wear sunglasses or swim googles to stop powder going

near their eyes. The powder is completely non toxic and will wash off in the

washing machine. However old clothes are recommended!

· Kindo registration closes Wednesday 10th April, however we will be able to

offer on the day registration. Tee Shirt sales MUST close 11 April.

· Bring your friends and family along. This event is not just for Silverdale families.

· This is a rain or shine event

· We will have food and drinks available to purchase thoroughout the

event. No eftpos facilities are available.

· Any questions please email the PTA [email protected]

Congratulations to the year 6 boys Silverdale Storm basketball team. Tonight they won

their game in the finals and took first place in their grade for term 1.

The boys have done so well winning every game played in term 1.
