Interest and support to development oftransport link from Turkey via Georgia andAzerbaijan to Kazakhstan and further toChina was also expressed by the Heads ofStates at the Turkic Council Summit

The issues of simplification of customs clearance procedures for Silk Wind train also discussed during the firstmeeting of the Heads of customs services of Turkic Council, where the parties have agreed to actively participatein project implementation

the «Silk Wind» project ‐Kazakhstan proposal to create a block‐

train of multimodal transport

SIGNING OF THE MEMORANDUM

Memorandum on the principles of joint activity on development of 

transport networks and organization of cargo transportation

within the implementation of the Silk Wind project is proposed to sign

under Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) 

international conference “Facilitation of Transport and Trade in the Black Sea, the Central Asia and the

REGULARITY OF FERRY SERVICE AT THE CASPIAN SEA

The only more or less regular service being the railferry and Ro‐Ro line run by CASPAR to/from Bakuperformed with rail ferries of 28 or 52 wagon capacityand small, out‐dated Ro‐Ros of 33 truck capacity (TIR)*

Lack of schedule for line Ro‐Ro services*

Lack of separate berths intended only for containerand Ro‐Ro vessels in Aktau port result in waiting timesfor Ro‐Ro vessels at roads *

According to the USAID report, the lack oftransparency in charging and pricing policy of Bakuport and CASPAR significantly affects the regularity oftransportations and attractiveness of the Caucasuscorridor in general **
