SBA BOARD
Caitlin E. RobinettSincerely,
Four generations on my grandmother’s 80th birthday
Earlier this week, I was wondering how many people appreciate the hard work of the handful of student leaders at the law school. All law students are busy and have a lot of commitments, but there seems to be a small group that are always finding the time to fit more and more into their schedule. Shortly thereafter, I started getting emails. I received emails from many who appreciated the article on Tim in The Advocate and emails from a few wishing my Grandmother a Happy Birthday. I can’t begin to tell you what a difference it made in my week. Thank you, to all of you who took the time to reach out. This photo is for you. And above all, thank you to all the student leaders at the law school. There are many of us that do notice and appreciate all the time you take away from your studies to keep the student organizations run-ning. You know who you are...
Have a great week, Santa Clara.

A Symposium on the
Rights and Wrongs of
Israel's Occupation of Palestine
with Prof. John Dugard and
Prof. Norman Finkelstein
It's probably the most important judicial ruling regarding peace and justice in the Middle East that you've never heard about. In July 2004, the International Court of Justice (ICJ), known as the World Court, gave a landmark opinion in favor of Palestine on borders, the Wall, settlements, and Jerusalem, which are all final status questions on Israel's occupation of Palestine. Come hear Prof. Finkelstein and Prof. Dugard discuss this landmark opinion to create a just and peaceful resolution of the Israel Palestine conflict.
Prof. John Dugard is a professor of international law and has served on the International Court of Justice and until recently was Special Rapporteur on human rights in the Palestinian territories occupied by Israel since 1967. He is also considered to be the father of human rights law in South Africa.
A son of holocaust survivors, Prof. Norman Finkelstein is the author of several highly acclaimed books such as Beyond Chutzpah on the Israel Palestine conflict, and The Holocaust Industry. He has written on the ICJ 2004 advisory opinion extensively and on the Israeli High Court's response to the opinion.
