Guru Nanak Dev Ji Jesus

About

A religion spread by 10 gurus to preach, worship one creator.

Salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.

Concept of Deity / God

Belief in one god, however & emphasis on teaching of Sikh gurus. God is merged with gurus and gurus are believed to be manifests of the creator.

God is our Heavenly Father. Believe in Trinity (one God, made up of three unique persons – Father, Son & Holy Spirit).

Jesus

Jesus considered a “saint”. DO NOT believe that Jesus is god – god is neither born nor dead. Jesus was born and lived human life and therefore cannot be god. However, Sikhs still show respect to all beliefs.

Jesus is son of living God and Savior of the world. Virgin Birth, through God. Jesus is fully God & Fully man.

Death of Jesus

N/A Death by crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension to Heaven. Jesus will return again.

Second coming of Jesus

N/A Affirmed, no one knows the date of His return, not even Jesus – only God the father.

Means of Salvation

God is generous and loving. Mankind will reincarnate until becoming a Sikh and achieving paradise. One obtains salvation by worshipping god, doing good deeds in god’s name & community service.

Mankind cannot save themselves. Only God is good and therefore only God is able to save. Salvation is through Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection. Salvation is by grace through faith & not by works.

Principle

Worship of one god, through prayer & devotion. Sikhs are required to meditate on god’s name to clear their mind and eliminate 5 evils.

God created man, man sinned & fell under curse of sin. God offers redemption to sinful man through blood of Christ, but each person must choose to accept it.
