Caara and Rosina continue to work from a place of curious inquiry and both have spent many years trying to work differently with families, youth and children coming into contact with Child Protection Services. Safety Planning Bootcamp, 8–12 April 2019

Caara Goddard first started working with the Signs of Safety framework in 2007 when Andrew Turnell came to the Ktunaxa Nation. Since that time she has been utilizing the practice model at all levels of child protection from investigations to guardianship, resources up to the supervisory and management level. She has also worked as a trainer and consultant with other agencies throughout Alberta and British Columbia to implement the framework in various capacities.

Rosina Harvey-Keeping

is entering into her 18th

year as a social worker

specializing in child protection

case practice. She was

introduced to Signs of Safety

in 2008 as a Child Protection

Supervisor in Hamilton Ontario. Rosina was one

of the implementation leaders for Signs of Safety

in her organization, as well as utilizing the practice

model in her role as a Supervisor and in practice with

leading reunification planning for children who had

been removed from parental care. Rosina is now the

Regional Director for Signs of Safety in Canada and has

been working in the provinces of Alberta, Manitoba,

and Ontario providing various levels of support to

organizations implementing Signs of Safety as their

practice framework.

The sessions will run from 9am – 4pm each day. There will be two evenings for cultural activities hosted by the local Delegated Aboriginal agencies, Secwepemc Child and Family Services and Lii Michif Otipemisiwak.
