that attended our alumni din-
ner during rush and our alumni
weekend the weekend of Oc-
tober 2nd. I would also like to
thank all the input we got back
from the alumni that attended
on how we can improve these
events. We will be using this
feedback to make alumni
weekend the best in recent
history. In the next month the
undergrads are very busy with
many events such as parents
dinner, scholarship dinner,
haunted house and a couple
mixers with sororities so be on
the lookout next month for a
newsletter on how those
events go, as well as more
information on spring alumni
weekend and initiation for the
fall pledge class.

We started this semester
with three main goals. They
were: to pledge 20 quality
guys, to increase house GPA
to a 3.0 and to win a Peterson.
With the fall recruitment period
finally over we
came very
close to our
first goal by
getting sixteen
out of twenty-
one guys to
sign their bids.
I would like to
formally thank
our recruitment chair Josh
Gilbert for managing and exe-
cuting a very successful rush.
I would also like to thank all
the brothers for working so
hard over the past four weeks.
This successful rush did not
come from one or two brothers
putting in all the effort, but all
the brothers working effec-
tively together. If all pledges
make it through pledging, we
will be going into spring se-
mester with nearly fifty broth-
ers. It has been a very long
time since we have had these
numbers. Recently we have
also been identified by mem-
bers of RPI
administration
as an upcom-
ing leader
among the
houses on
campus. If
these two
things are not
evidence to
everyone that we are getting
better and better every year, I
don‟t know what is. Some
may say it‟s still too early, but I
firmly believe if we keep up the
things we are doing we are
well on our way to make this
house the most respected and
desired to be in house on RPI
campus.
I would like to thank all alumni

Risk Management at Delta Psi
The Saratoga Palio: Melanie Merola O'Donnell
Memorial Race On Sunday September 20th, 2009 the Delta Psi chapter of Sigma Chi volun-teered at the Fourth Annual Saratoga Palio Melanie Merola O’ Donnell Me-morial Race. Starting at 7 am brothers assisted in directing run-
ners along the course as well as in directing traffic away from the race. Some brothers helped to distrib-ute water at stations along
the course as well. The event in itself went incredibly smoothly with the brothers receiving plenty of praise from runners and onlookers alike.
With Halloween fast ap-proaching brothers are begin-ning to prepare for our 50th An-nual Haunted House. The event has become very popular among residents and students alike, and is often one of our largest phi-lanthropy events of the year thanks to donations by those who attend. Even the sororities on campus are eager to help, and we are having mixers with a few to carve the pumpkins and
create some decorations for the Chapter house.
In the month of No-vember we are looking to participate in the Equinox soup Kitchen, the largest Thanksgiving Soup Kitchen in the Capital Region. With the compassion and deter-mination seen in the broth-ers while assisting in past events these upcoming events are guaranteed suc-
cesses.

This year at Balfour Lead-
ership Training Workshop,
the Delta Psi Chapter won
the Risk Management
Foundation's yearly schol-
arship for outstanding risk
management. This schol-
arship provides the chap-
ter with $5000 to spend on
improving risk manage-
ment for the Chapter
house. The house is plan-
ning on spending the
ment program. Hopefully
we will continue to earn
this award and be a guide
for other chapters‟ risk
management programs.

Alumni Tribune
In an effort to change
the format of the alumni newslet-
ter to something more about the
alumni, we are looking for your
input into the monthly newsletter.
Whether it be a full article, up-
dates on your brothers, or even
some old pictures and memo-
ries, we would like for the alumni
to be involved.
The general idea is that
there would be a “captain” for
each generation of the chapter,
one to cover roughly each half
decade. This captain would
keep in contact with the brothers
from his time, and send updates
on things such as weddings, ad-
