Risk Management at Delta Psi

The Saratoga Palio: Melanie Merola O'Donnell

Memorial Race On Sunday September 20th, 2009 the Delta Psi chapter of Sigma Chi volun-teered at the Fourth Annual Saratoga Palio Melanie Merola O’ Donnell Me-morial Race. Starting at 7 am brothers assisted in directing run-

ners along the course as well as in directing traffic away from the race. Some brothers helped to distrib-ute water at stations along

the course as well. The event in itself went incredibly smoothly with the brothers receiving plenty of praise from runners and onlookers alike.

With Halloween fast ap-proaching brothers are begin-ning to prepare for our 50th An-nual Haunted House. The event has become very popular among residents and students alike, and is often one of our largest phi-lanthropy events of the year thanks to donations by those who attend. Even the sororities on campus are eager to help, and we are having mixers with a few to carve the pumpkins and

create some decorations for the Chapter house.

In the month of No-vember we are looking to participate in the Equinox soup Kitchen, the largest Thanksgiving Soup Kitchen in the Capital Region. With the compassion and deter-mination seen in the broth-ers while assisting in past events these upcoming events are guaranteed suc-

cesses.

This year at Balfour Lead-

the Delta Psi Chapter won

the Risk Management

Foundation's yearly schol-

arship for outstanding risk

management. This schol-

arship provides the chap-

improving risk manage-

ment for the Chapter

house. The house is plan-

ning on spending the

we will continue to earn

this award and be a guide

for other chapters‟ risk

management programs.

In an effort to change

the format of the alumni newslet-

ter to something more about the

alumni, we are looking for your

input into the monthly newsletter.

Whether it be a full article, up-

dates on your brothers, or even

some old pictures and memo-

ries, we would like for the alumni

to be involved.

The general idea is that

there would be a “captain” for

each generation of the chapter,

one to cover roughly each half

decade. This captain would

keep in contact with the brothers

from his time, and send updates

on things such as weddings, ad-
