    Notes: Siena has knocked Manhattan out of the MAAC Tournament fiveof the last six years and won 14 of the last 18 meetings. The Saintshave also won eight straight at Times Union Center, dating back to a63-58 Jaspers win on Jan. 30, 2006 when the Jaspers were coachedby Bobby Gonzales. Thats the year after Steve Masiello left Manhattan

    as an assistant coach for Louisville. Back in December, Rhamel Brownscored a career-high 21 points (since broken) and Manhattan closed thegame on a 37-19 run to beat Siena comfortably in Riverdale.

    Siena vs the MAAC: Siena has been the most successful program sincejoining the conference in 1989-90. The Saints went 46-8 in regular-seasonplay from 2007-08 2009-10. Siena's 230 MAAC wins since joining theconference (1989-90) and 169 wins since the league expanded to 10teams (1997-98) rank as the most among league members. The realdisparity has come in postseason play. Siena has made five NCAATournament (3-5) and four NIT (9-4) appearances as a MAAC member.

    Mitch BuonaguroMitch Buonaguro was named Siena's 15th head

    men's basketball coach on April 8, 2010.

    Widely regarded as one of the mostexperienced and respected coaches inthe country, Buonaguro has helped reen-ergize the Siena program in his sevenyears (five as the lead assistant) with theprogram, helping the Saints to threeconsecutive MAAC Championshipsand NCAA Tournament berths from2008-2010.

    Buonaguro has amassed over 30years and 1,000 games of Division I coaching experienceas both a head and assistant coach. He served as the headcoach at fellow MAAC member Fairfield University from1985-91 where he led the Stags to consecutive MAACChampionships and NCAA Tournament appearances in hisfirst two seasons. As a result, he was named NationalRookie Coach of the Year by Basketball Times and DistrictI Coach of the Year by the United States BasketballWriters Association and the NABC.

    Prior to his appointment as the top assistant coach atSiena in 2005, Buonaguro made assistant coaching stopsat Boston College (1975-77), Villanova (1977-85), TexasA&M (1991-96), Cleveland State (1996-03) and UNC-Greensboro (2003-05). As an assistant under legendaryhead coach Rollie Massimino at Villanova, Buonagurohelped guide the Wildcats to the 1985 NationalChampionship.

    A 1975 graduate of Boston College, Buonaguro was a four-year point guard of the Eagles basketball team from 1971-75. One of the few individuals to both play in and coachan NCAA Tournament game, Buonaguro scored fourpoints for Boston College in its 1975 NCAA Tournamentgame against North Carolina. Buonaguro graduated cumlaude from Boston College with a Bachelor of Arts degreein history and in 1977 he received a master's degree insecondary education.

    Buonaguro has been inducted into two Hall of Fames. He

    is part of both the Bishop Loughlin Hall of Fame inBrooklyn, N.Y. and the Five-Star Basketball Camp Hall ofFame.

    A native of Queens, N.Y., Buonaguro and his wife Suzincurrently reside in nearby Ballston Lake. Mitch's sonMichael is a 2009 graduate of Siena.

    MANHATTAN AT SIENA - FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 1, 2013

    Storylines- Sienas won eight straight over Manhattan at Times Union Center. TheSaints have knocked the Jaspers out of the MAAC Tournament five ofthe last six years.- Sienas coming off its highest scoring game of the season a 79-75win over Marist in Poughkeepsie Sunday- Evan Hymes was named MAAC co-Player of the Week Monday. Hymesaveraged 25.5 points and 5.5 assists while shooting 62% (13-21) fromthe field, 70% (7-10) from 3-point range and 95% (18-19) from the freethrow line.- O.D. Anosike had 20 points and 21 rebounds in the Marist win. It was

    just the fourth 20-20 performance in Division I this season, and the firstin Sienas Division history. It was the third 20+ rebound effort ofAnosikes career- Trenity Burdine averaged 12 points and 27.5 minutes while shooting63% (10-16) from the field in the two games last weekend. Burdine hasbeen suspended twice this season, missing nine games.- Ryan Oliver will be out at least a month after having his knee scoped.Oliver had missed the last four games.- Siena had more assists than turnovers against Marist for the first timeall season. The Saints also shot a season-high 55% from the field.- The Saints have gone 3-3 in their last six games after losing 11 straight- Four of Sienas five victories have been by five points or fewer (twocoming in the final seconds, and one in overtime). Seven of Sienas 16losses have been by six points or fewer, and seven have been by 15points or more.- Rob Poole is averaging a team-best 14 points and shooting 46% from3-point range in MAAC games. Poole also leads the team in scoring inhomes games (13.0).- Rakeem Brookins returned to the lineup at Marist. Brookins hadmissed the last game and a half after reinjuring his back.- The nine Saints averaging double-figure minutes have combined tomiss 26 games this season.- Sienas shot 73.4% (130-177) from the free throw line over the lasteight games. Evan Hymes has made 93% (28-30) over that stretch andO.D. Anosike has shot a much-improved 66% (40-61).

    - Imoh Silas has missed the last two games with an ankle injury. Hecould return to the lineup Friday. Silas averaged 9.5 points and 4.0rebounds while shooting 75% (9-12) from the field in his last twogames (at Niagara and at Canisius)- O.D. Anosike leads the nation in rebounding (12.0) and is tied for thirdin double-doubles (13). Hes the only front court player in the nation torank in the top-20 in minutes per game (4th 37.8).- Siena is the only team in the MAAC with four players averaging doublefigures. Those four (Anosike, Poole, Brookins and Hymes) account for75% of the teams scoring this season.

    O.D.
