Prime Minister’s Industry 4.0 Taskforce

Supporting Australia’s transition to a new economy

Special taskforce connects Australian industry to

German and US industrial leaders

The Siemens-led taskforce will support Australia’s transition to a new

economy by connecting Australia’s ‘National Science and Innovation

Agenda’ to the world.

Siemens and other taskforce members will collaborate with government and

industry in both countries, initiating a collaborative approach to the

development of global Industry 4.0 standards.

Members include Advanced Manufacturing Growth Centre, Australian

Advanced Manufacturing Council, CSIRO, Engineers Australia, SAP,

Standards Australia and Swinburne University of Technology.

Industry 4.0 apprenticeship initiative

Reinventing the apprenticeship model

Ai Group, Swinburne and Siemens partner for high-

level Industry 4.0 apprenticeship initiative

Beginning in 2016, the pilot scheme will involve up to 20 students taking

part in a trial that will train them in cutting-edge manufacturing technologies

including 3D metal printing, machine vision and virtual reality.

This innovative project is a collaboration between Swinburne University of

Technology, Ai Group and Siemens

The new apprenticeship model will support the skills needed for the

emerging fourth industrial revolution, or Industry 4.0, and apprentices will

earn a Diploma in Applied Technologies from Swinburne.
