SICASA• Our student fraternity SICASA (Southern India

Chartered Accountants students Association) is one of the biggest student unions in this country.

• Every student who registers for PCC with the SIRC of ICAI becomes a member in the student council by default and a nominal charge is collected from them along with the registration fees for the course..

• Currently we have about 26000 students in our rolls with around 17300 students in PCC & 8800 Final course students and this number is growing every day.

Join with SICASA• Annual elections are held & 11 student members of SICASA

are elected as the Student Council Members representing the whole of South India. Then further elections are held within the council to decide on the office bearing posts of the Vice Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer. This team of students is monitored by a Chartered Accountant who is elected in the CA member’s election as the Chairman of SICASA.

• This Election is held along with the AGM of SICASA wherein the audited accounts of SICASA is submitted.

• Well not interested in elections eh?! You still can be involved with SICASA..You can join up as a volunteer!

• For this just contact any of the present committee members and become a volunteer.

Activities of SICASA

• Conducting study circle meetings every Saturday at the institute both conventional & non-conventional programmes are organized.

• Organizing Seminars. Organizing Sporting events like Cricket,

Badminton, Chess etc. Conducting Cultural events Volunteering in activities of ICAI and SIRC of ICAI. Handling Student Grievances

The Regional Conference 08’

At present the work regarding the Regional Conference themed “March towards Perfection” is going on in full swing.

The conference will be held on the

17th(Wed) & 18th(Thu) of this month at Kamraj Arangam and the Delegate fee for the same is Rs.450 per student (which mostly will be borne by your respective firms).

Students delegates from the 4 southern states are expected to attend this conference.

This conference aims to address an expected gathering of more than 1500 students and 500 CA members on various topics.

Around 15 student speakers from your lot have been carefully handpicked after various screening process and they will be submitting their papers on various subjects covering the Accounting, Law and Taxation departments.

In addition to this, the stalwarts of our profession will be addressing the gathering explaining the Financial crisis and the impact that, this crisis is going to create.

Panache 08’The Cultural Nite

This Conference also includes lighter moments with cultural events that will be conducted in the evening of 17th Dec.

Every student can participate in the grand cultural event and the details regarding this can be received by contacting our committee members.

The last date for joining in the cultural event is Friday the 12th of December 2008.

Registration in the conference in compulsory before joining for the cultural event.

Solo – Dance and Music events are up for grabs along with the group events of Light music (Max 6 per team ) and Dance (Max 8 per team).
