RUSSIAN LANGUAGE PREPARATION PROGRAMS

The Russian Language Preparation Programs are available at SibFU in The Pre-Admission Russian as a Foreign Language (RFL) Department for International Students. Russian language courses and general disciplines (pre-university courses) are Pre-University Programs for international students who would like to do their Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD SibFU degree in Siberian Federal University or at other Russian universities.

At the end of your Preparatory Course, you will receive a Certifi cate of Russian Lan-guage Profi ciency. This certifi cate will ensure entry to SibFU degree Programs.

Our courses combine a strong syllabus with a contemporary approach intended to build confi dence and motivate students. Imaginative skills work and regular changes of focus are designed to capture students` interest. All our teaching takes place in a relaxed atmosphere because we understand that expressing oneself in a foreign language can be diffi cult. Laughter and humor help to make our students feel more comfortable about experimenting with the language and more willing to take risks!

HOW TO APPLY?

Step 1: Choose a ProgramSee Bachelor’s Programs, Master’s Programs, Ph.D. Programs above.Having found a degree program/course that satisfi es you please take Step 2 of this instruction.

Step 2: Submit Application Form on the WebsiteFill in the requested data in an online form: http://www.sfu-kras.ru/en/education/admissionPlease note all digital attachments should be of high quality. The passport should be valid for at least 18 months after the prospective starting date of your studies. English-taught programs also require a paper confi rming English language command.

Step 3: Take your entrance testsBased on your chosen programNote: Applicants for Russian Language Preparation Programs are admitted without exams.

Step 4: Sign the Learning AgreementSign the Learning Agreement that we sent you an email its scanned copy back to the International Students Recruitment Offi ce at [email protected]

Step 5: Pay the invoice from the University (a semester or a full academic year) After receiving the confi rmation of payment the department will apply for an invitation letter for you.

Step 6: Wait for your invitation letter The Invitation Letter which is necessary for you to receive the Russian visa will be issued by the Krasnoyarsk Visa and Immigration Offi ce within 30-45 days (offi cial processing time). You will receive the notifi cation that the document is ready from the International Cooperation Department, Siberian Federal University. The invitation letter will be sent to you in electronic format by email.

Step 7: Apply for a visa in a country of residenceFind out from your nearest Russian Embassy what documents you need to supply for your entry visa. It is recommended that you start preparing your documents well in advance as it may be a lengthy process.

Step 8: Arrive in KrasnoyarskIt is essential that you take with you1. International passport valid for at least 18 months after the date of entry to the Russian Federation and migration (landing) card.2. Medical certifi cate on absence of contraindications for study in Russia issued by the offi cial medical care authority in your country of residence. Medical X-ray certifi cate valid on the date of entry into the Russian Federation.3. HIV certifi cate issued by the offi cial medical care authority in your country of residence.4. Copy and original of the document which certifi es the earlier education received (with the list of the taken courses, credits received, and grade point average), duly prepared for nostrifi cation.5. 12 matte photos, 4 by 6 centimeters.6. Medical insurance

Note: Originals of the documents specifi ed in items 3, 4, 5, and 6 should be delivered by the applicant to the university promptly upon arrival.

Note 2: You are legally obliged to have medical insurance coverage for the entire duration of your stay in the territory of Russia. You are recommended to purchase it upon arrival at your destination; this can be done by a local health insurance company. The Offi ce of international students and staff support will assist you in choosing a health and safety insurer.

HOW TO STUDY FOR FREE?

There are 3 possible ways to get a tuition-free based education at SibFU:

1) To achieve a Scholarship of the Russian Government:Russian Government offer fi nancial support to international students on a competitive basis. For now, there are about 300 places available, so applicants have a chance to participate in a contest and become our student

• Find information about the selection of international applicants on the website https://future-in-russia.com/

• Register on the website, fi ll out an electronic form and submit your application• You can choose up to 6 universities (with quota available) where you would like to

study, but no more than 3 in one Federal Constituency• Indicate the university you like most of all as your fi rst choice and list other

schools in an order according to your preferences

• Wait for an invitation to participate in the selection process (interviews, tests, examinations).

• Find yourself on the list of candidates (based on the results of tests/examinations).

• If you are on the list of candidates, please prepare additional documents:• A medical certifi cate (confi rming that there are no medical reasons not to accept

you to a Russian university), including the results of an HIV test;• Copies of documents (notarized and translated into Russian).

• Wait for a notifi cation confi rming your enrollment in the university and containing information about your next steps.

• Receive your visa and come to study in Russia!

2) To take part in "HED – Siberian Federal – the Uni of your dream" – the competition for international applicants.

The Olympiad is held in two rounds for the Master's track and in three rounds for the doctoral track (analogous to Ph.D.). The fi rst round is a competition of portfolios, and the second round is a problem-solving challenge. The third round of the Olympiad involves the selection of a prospective research supervisor for the chosen doctoral program (analogous to Ph.D.) and an interview with him/her.
