• Historically, Ordinary Portland Cement OPC was the first “modern” cement to be used since >150years, and is covered by the Thai Industry Standard, TIS-15.
• In the last decennia, hydraulic cement has been developed worldwide and used extensively in major projects, e.g. infrastructure, buildings especially in Europe and Asia, gradually replacing the historic OPC.
• The advantage of hydraulic cement is its emphasis on the performance of the cement rather than restriction on cement composition. Therefore, the cement formulation can be better tailored to the application requirements.
• Based on Thai Industry Standard, TIS-2594, our hydraulic cement, INSEE PetchEasy Flow, has been successfully used in Thailand since 2015

• sulfate ion concentration (SO42-) of WS samples were in the range of 1,052 – 1,625 mg/L

Recommendation of selecting type of cementitious materials for NS & MS resisting concrete
• Lower w/b ratio as far as is practically possible coincident with good concrete (or mortar) workability with a suitable superplasticizer in the mix, so as to minimize internal transport of ions in the pore solution of the hardened material.
• Reduce permeability of the concrete (or mortar) with Limestone powder (LP) or fly ash (FA) additions, or Sulfate-resisting Portland cement.
• Seek to reduce the C3S (alite) and C3A (aluminate) levels as far as is practical or feasible (Physical properties; eg. Setting time, compressive strengths, etc. should be considered).
• Time requirement curing concrete with tap water more than 7 day

Surface Preparation Concrete surfaces should be cleaned and free of dirt, debris, dust, oil, grease, mold releasing liquid and other foreign matter.
Concrete surfaces and absorbent substrates must be water saturated thoroughly and no standing water when pour.
Mixing Pour the required amount of water starting from minimum water content (3.75 l or 15% water content by weight) in the container.
Turn on low-speed drill (lower than 500-rpm speed). Pour the powder into the container within 30 seconds. Mix further for 2-3 minutes or until the mixture is homogeneous.
Wait to release out air bubble from the mixture.
Pouring Formwork should be liquid tight, nonabsorbent and firmly installed. When grouting large areas, prepare rails or cones to help cement grouting to flows
easily and continuously. During pouring, maintain the pressure head of mixture stable. Mixture should be
continuously poured from one side only, poured until the gap is completed filled. Ensure the air entrapped can escape and continuous flow of the mixture to avoid layer boundaries.
May require a wire to scoop grouting mortar to fill the space and help releasing any entrapped air bubbles. Avoid using vibrators, as it may cause segregation.
Suitable working temperature is between 20-35 °C. Pouring at low temperature will result in a long setting period and delay strength development, while pouring at high temperature will result in reduce flow ability, hardens quickly and may cause cracks.

Step Details
Curing When the surface reaches final setting, cure with water for at least 3-7 days. Cover with plastic sheet or burlap to maintain the surface in moist condition. Concrete curing compound also can be used as recommended instruction by the manufacturer. Avoid direct sunlight to complete the hydration reaction and prevent cracking.
Avoid vibration and contact with extremely hot or cold condition.
Warning Do not add chemical additives in the mixture. In case fluid consistency required, do not add more than specified maximum water
content.

CEMENTITIOUS GROUT PLACEMENT PROCEDURES
Cementitious grout placement involves proper mixing, placing, finishing, and curing, allof which are critical components of a successful grout installation. Improperly placedgrout will often not perform as designed and can lead to potential problems such as groutcracking, equipment misalignment, and even grout failure
Selecting the type of cementitious grout, pumpable, flowable, fluid, or other, is important and involves a detailed understanding of the application for which the grout is to be used and of which material will provide the best results.

FLUID GROUTS Easier to place than flowable grouts Expected to flow longer distances at normal clearances or to get into tighter clearances. Fluid Grouts must be mixed to a specified consistency, which requires having a flow
cone on the jobsite. Without a flow cone available, it is difficult to determine if the groutis mixed with the appropriate amount of water.
FLOWABLE GROUTS Sufficient flow to properly grout a majority of applications. Flowable grouts are typically very versatile. Properly formulated flowable grouts will provide long working times (30 to 45 minutes), can
often be extended with coarse aggregate in the field for deep pours, and can be pumped. Some flowable grouts, such as those based on aluminum powders, have short working times and, therefore, cannot be mixed in ready mix trucks or pumped.
PUMPABLE GROUTS Formulated flowable grouts that provide good pumpability or very specialized grouts that
contain pumping aids. Should be able to be pumped with typical grout pumps or larger pumps, such as concrete
pumps. Pumping grouts may involve the addition of coarse aggregate at the jobsite, particularly on large volume placements. Aggregates used for extending cementitious grouts should be clean, washed aggregates of specified size and conform to ASTM C33.

Fluid grouts have advantages over flowable grouts.
Fluid grouts will tend to entrap less air in shear key applications, though vent holes should be present in the baseplate to allow the venting of any entrapped air.

Dry Pack
Requires a grout with a thick consistency. placing of zero-slump or near zero-slump grout by ramming into a confined space. Only a well braced backboard, a tamping rod, and a mallet are required for placement by
the dry pack method It is not recommended except for very small jobs with easy accessibility. Although dry packing avoids the need for formwork, it requires considerable skill on the
part of the worker to obtain a uniform degree of grout compression, and therefore,uniform strength in the grout bed.
Dry packing is labor-intensive and requires a highly skilled worker to ensure that the groutis uniformly compacted under the entire baseplate without cold joints.

Pouring
Requires a grout with a flowable or fluid consistency. To place a flowable grout, use forms and a headbox. Appropriate for most grouting applications. During the mixing process, a flowable grout, being stiffer than a fluid grout, is less likely to
incorporate excess air that later gets trapped under the baseplate. Watertight forms are required for flowable and fluid grout. To increase the rate of flow from a headbox, manually apply pressure in addition to the
hydraulic head by using a plunger.

Pumping
Pumping is the preferred method for placing grout on all large or multiple grouting installations, particularly when there are shear keys, fixators, or other obstructions under the baseplate
• Pumping cement-based grout into place is fast, and can achieve good results.• A pumpable grout, needing less water than a fluid grout, contributes to higher strength.• As grout installers become more experienced with pumping, it will continue to increase in
popularity because of its superior performance characteristics.
