Iskratel’s Smooth Transition to GPON Networks

For fixed broadband networks, the SI3000 Pono is a perfectly small 1U GPON OLT that offers a smooth transition from DSL or COAX to fiber-based GPON access. This allows for the easy upgrade of a copper-based access network, without changing any piece of existing DSLAM or MSAN equipment, just by adding a cost-effective high-density SI3000 Pono product.
THE ISKRATEL APPROACHThe SI3000 Pono is a very compact GPON OLT product that features simple installation at any indoor telecommunications location, without the need to extend power-supply, batteries and air-conditioning systems. With an internal non-blocking architecture and 2x 10G and 8x 1G ports, the SI3000 Pono offers rich network connections.
The SI3000 Pono offers 8 OLT ports with fiber connectivity, connecting up to 512 subscribers. This is the typical capacity of an existing DSLAM or MSAN shelf. With just 1U free space in the same rack, any copper-based active equipment can be extended with GPON capability without any interruption to the copper-based services.

On top of the DSLAM in the rack or inside an outdoor shelter, the SI3000 Pono is an excellent extender of the existing copper-based access. CLI and WebGUI stand-alone management are available for OLT as well as for ONTs at customer premises via in-band OMCI management.

The small power consumption of the 1U design not only reduces the OPEX but also lowers the investments in cooling, power supplies and batteries.
