Shutterflex is a proud, family run Australian company; we use aluminium and manufacture all our products in our Brisbane factory location. Our battens have been installed throughout Australia in high quality homes and resorts, enhancing architectural and landscape designs.

Battens

Shutterflex battens can be used as window sunscreens, awnings over windows, fences, gates, pool enclosures, gable features and privacy screens. Battens can be positioned horizontally or vertically. There is a choice of two standard screens: 65mm x 16mm battens or 50mm x 25mm battens.

With our own manufacturing plant we can make the battens to your specifications. Some of the options available include:

varying the pitch between the battens•

varying the separation distance between the battens • with a miniumum set at 10mm

with a frame or frameless.•

Powder coated aluminium requires little maintenance and with the new wood grain finish you can get the look of wood without cutting down any trees. If you want to create an impact with your batten screens, there are over eighty colours to choose from. Powder coating colours are available for all the colourbond colour range so your battens can compliment existing external features on your home.

Shutterflex can provide you with a quality installation by qualified and experienced installers. The maximum span between supports without a support bar is two metres.

UNIQUE DESIGN The Ellipse Fins are designed as two components, a skeleton which provides a supporting structure for the second component, a skin or outer covering. The Fins can be fixed or automated as single or multiple units that are adjusted to meet location and weather requirements. Fixings are concealed to achieve a stylish exterior finish.

This unique design means the entire structure is lightweight and allows for outer covering options and finishes:

• Perforated metal • Solid powder coated, or• Laser cut sheets with a design, logo or image. • Expanded mesh

Other options:

• Rain, light, wind, temperature and sun sensors that will activate your fins to open or close in response to weather changes.

THE GREEN FACADE SOLUTION

This product was a finalist for Innovation of The Year in the 2011 BPN Sustainability Awards for the installation at Mon Komo in Redcliffe, Queensland.

PERFORATED FINISH

The perforated Ellipse Fins out perform their solid louvre equivalents by providing more natural light , reducing the need for artificial lighting during the day thereby reducing the carbon loading of building occupiers. The perforation filters the light and prevents any sunlight shining directly onto the interior.

The product and installation have been certified by an independent engineer for the following codes as referenced in the Building Code of Australia:

With its sharp, clean angles, the Shutterflex SF-70 has a stylish, contemporary look suited to modern designs. SF-70 can be applied to a variety of applications including vertical and horizontal sunscreens outside windows, awnings over windows, doors and privacy screens. A practical and cost effective sun shade solution that will contribute to Green Star ratings on buildings, the SF-70 has been installed on a number of commercial projects in the hospitality, education and health sectors as well as contemporary homes.

Several schools throughout Queensland have SF-70 screens installed on windows to cool the classrooms and increase the energy efficiency.

The SF-70 is ideal for either horizontal or vertical blades and is available in a framed or frameless style.

The SF-70 can be packaged with other products in our range such as battens, balcony shutters and grating to minimise costs and reduce the number of subcontractors for one project.

SF-70

The SF-70 is manufactured using a Shutterflex extruded aluminum blade. The blade is 70mm along the angled leg. The SF-70 is supplied standard with a blade pitch to give zero blade overlap. Due to the flexibility of the SF-70 design the blade pitch can be made to suit your specific requirements. The blades are assembled using the Shutterflex rod and tube system. This system gives a very sturdy assembly making the SF-70 the preferred option for many architects.

The rod and tube pitch can also be made at 100mm, • 200mm or 300mm to suit your specific requirements.

The SF-70 weighs approximately 14Kg/sqm. •

Shutterflex Weatherproof Louvres can be used where a weatherproof screen is required providing maximum air flow in commercial and industrial applications. The blade pitch can be varied to control air flow and natural light ingress. Our Weatherproof Louvres are available in continuous or framed panels.
