SHUR/Cut™. . . . At the forefront of motorized & manual sectioning innovation

The SC2500 has the same motorized trimming & sectioning thickness setting features as the SC3500 including one-speed specimen-arm advance & return; but, for the cost conscious budget without the added benefits of the specimen-arm position memory feature and the ergonometric hand-pad controller included with the SC3500.

The control panel is positioned on the left front of the instrument for finger-tip switching between sectioning & trimming functions. To increase or decrease the thicknesses, simply press the “+” and “-” signs accordingly. The specimen arm is easily advanced & returned by pressing the appropriate direction arrows. All models also display the number of revolutions and the total amount advanced since the last reset. When switching from TRIM to SECT, the counter automatically resets.

All models come standard with our most popular blade holder that accepts both high and low profile blades. Lateral displacement feature facilities the use of the entire disposable blade without moving the actual blade in the holder.

The user-friendly hand-pad of the SC3500 also allows the operator to store separate trimming and sectioning thicknesses. To switch from one mode to the other, simply press the appropriate embossed switch. 2-Speed motorized specimen forward / reverse feed-function rapidly advances a tissue block for cutting or returning to the rear for inserting a new block.

Retraction can be turned On / Off by the push of a button. Automatic specimen positioning memory function facilitates removing a block for rehydration or cooling, and, with a push of a button after re-inserting the block into the specimen clamp, the electronic memory will reposition the specimen back to the original location.

Inclined hand-pad, adjustable feet and a long cord allow the hand-pad controller to be comfortably positioned on either side of the microtome for maximized personal comfort.

A readily accessible emergency stop button quickly halts the motor drive when pushed.

Motorized operation can also be actuated by the included foot pedal to further reduce repetitive hand motions.

The SC4500 has an adjustable-speed motorized cutting stroke that can be customized to simulate a manual motion, leaving the operator’s hands free to manipulate and guide ribbons. Engineered to provide the utmost in accuracy, efficiency and precise sectioning, the motorized functions

are operated by an intuitive hand-pad that provides fingertip control of start/stop, speed control from 30 to 120 rpm and easy switchover between pre-set trimming and sectioning modes.

The extra long cable to the hand-pad,the inclined design & the adjustable rear feet allow the hand-pad to be conveniently positioned for user comfort to minimize repetitive motion stress. Automatic specimen positioning
