Shruti Arts would like to welcome everyone to a new and exciting programme full of the promise of spring with colourful and engaging events sure to appeal to our audiences. Shruti Arts begins the New Year with a unique Baithak style event, celebrating the talent of Kirpal Singh Panesar, one of the rising stars of the UK South Asian music scene for his skills with the Tar-Shehnai and the Dilruba. Joining, Kirpal are the two young stars of Santoor, Eeshar and Jeevan.

In March, we’re happy to invite to Leicester the much lauded Pravin Godkhindi, the masterful flautist from India representing the finest in ‘Gayaki’ style of flute playing. Joining him in a Jugalbandi is Rekesh Chauhan, a talented pianist whose unifying fresh style has made him a phenomenon amongst listeners for his unique ability of performing Indian Classical music on the Piano.

Our spring season reaches its climax with the return of Ashit and Hema Desai to Leicester. Ashit and Hema will work with Shruti Arts to train a range of voices to carve out a niche in the region’s musical expression, the Indian Choir. A showcase not to be missed.

Many more exciting events are planned for the year so keep an eye on the website www.shrutiarts.com and social media feeds about the launch of our school music training programme from January 2014 and the weekly academy events with our venue partner, The Peepul Centre.
