Our Inspiration . . .

Life, an ageless beauty

Since time immemorial the world has rested and founded itself on three most important things..Trust, Honesty and Hope.. This is my personal belief... and my life is what it is only because I believed in this axiom and lived up to it.

All my life I had people come and go by the thousands..some who broke my trust and yet others who went out of their way to help me find my lost trust again, when life was going through hopeless times people who held me until hope filled my mind again..and above all I stood by my honesty and the just ways I believed in always…keeping my life an open book with nothing to read between the lines or free of any torn or erased pages. Today after years of living my life, my belief in the above has gone up manifold and as the years passed I tried my best to spread the same belief across to all those people who touched my life in different ways at different times..Standing by people no matter what, trusting them no matter what and living on hope with the most positive attitude no matter what ...is the only way to live life.

As years went by I also realized that life is the only thing we have got which belongs to us exclusively and the principles we model it on is left entirely to us…As we are the sole creators of a good, bad or happy or sad life..the circumstances that we create and those that are created by others around us become easy to deal with if we have our own ideas, principles and path to follow..if I am going to trust, love and believe others no matter what I will keep doing so irrespective of the fact that those that I choose to trust, love and believe in, may not have the same attitude towards me...at the end it's their loss when they fail to take what is on offer..

With passage of time, I also realized that there's always another tomorrow waiting for us..till we die there's always hope to realize our dreams, to achieve our goals, to find what we want, to live another day..this tomorrow is the most powerful tool that we have and none of us should waste it in despair just because we have had a sad and lost yesterday..I learnt to live everyday with the hope that there is tomorrow and it's going to be better than today..it will bring me closer to all my unfulfilled dreams and desires..and if this life is not enough I always will have another life to fulfill them, realize them.. As this life is too beautiful to just live the way it is..withit's ups and downs, it's crazy ways, it's mysterious unfolding moments.. When I look back I realize that I was as happy and contented in the earlier days of my life when one simple salwar khameez bought for Diwali (Jo meri nazaronke saamne se abhi bhi nahi jaata) as I am today with all my designer Rudraksh collection...I was as happy traveling in an auto as I am today in my various modes of transport..it's probably because that time also I believed in life and loved my life and today also believe and love my life...

Let me end by a quote I formed a few days back...MY DREAMS ARE BEAUTIFUL..MY REALITY EQUALLY BEAUTIFUL..LET ME ENJOY MY TODAY AND MY DREAMS TO BE ENJOYED ANOTHER DAY…

“When you write more and more personal it becomes more and more universal.”

Writing is an act of reacting to the environment around you. An expression is a basic instinct of thoughtful mind and the act of writing is one of the fountain head of ideas that springs into poem or article. The writing comes to life when it meets its reader. Students are most enthusiastic budding creative expressionist who just need a platform to throw their ideas and emotions on the paper. A college magazine is there to capitulate all those expressions for the tasteful readers. “ Anubhuti” is one of the most eagerly awaited moment for students, staff and all those associated with Indira family. The college magazine which showcases the literary expressions, social awareness and recognition to all the achievers in the academic and extracurricular activities, strengthens the internal bonding amongst the Indiraites as one family.

Anubhuti enters into Sixth year with this publication, a budding tender plant flourishing into a self-contending tree grounded firmly into the past and solidifying the future. The editorial board like every year went through a stupendous task of selecting and finalizing the best of the best creative material for the magazine. We are overwhelmed with the humongous response both by the students and the staff members with their drafts.

We tried our best to accommodate all the deserving articles and poemsinto the magazine. We hope this sixth edition of Anubhuti will set the bar higher with its interesting and novel material which will certainly astonish the reader. We would be delighted to receive your valuable feedback for motivation and self-retrospection.

BIOTERRORISM

“No tool or piece of knowledge has an

skilled moral context, just as knife, in the hands

of skilled surgeon , may save lives, but same

knife in the hands of murder?..........”

Terrorism is an act carried out by a

person or a group voulntarily, to put terror in the

mind of people. bioterrrism evantually means

terror caused due to release of large number of

micro organisms which cause infection, disease

and death of people. it is counter part of

terrorism. it is the action which causes threats to

the animals and plants and in this rude process,

mico organism are used s weapons for the

purpose of destruction.

In ancient time,man used germs,

biological toxins extracted from plants and

animals as a biological weapons. he subjected

this material on arrows head and it was used in

way. it is still used in tribes in south america and

africa. due to this ,bacteria gag gangrene,

tetanus were released in the environment. small

pox, bubonic plague, these are contagious

diseases. in 14th centuary, cadavers which were

infected by small pox or plague, placed at site of

the war. in 18th centuary, during french and

indian war frencg commoders used small pox as

the biological weapon. sir jeffrey. supplied

blanket to indians which were fully covered with

pox viruses. in 1917 germons, inoculated

organisms in american horses and animals, due

to this gelanders disease was caused in horses,

so there was total disturbences in american

army. same time they introduced plague

infected fleas in elever chinese citites. in 1995,

the gas which contained botulinum toxinc,

spreaded in tokiyo subway.

They are some target sites of biological

weapons. specially soldiers, comeercial crops,

milking animals. it polluted water supply and

disturb ecosystem. the object or aim of use of

these biological weapons are to creat terrorism

in community and to make the rival weak.

ethenic bomb is also an example of biological

weapons.

These biological weapons dilivered

through rocketts,missiles erosols,explosions and

wind blow.

Bioterrorisnsm has emerged as one of trick tacts.

hence all the responsible person of all nations,

various peace loving groups should come

together to formulate a global strategy to

counter such problems.

At the end of this information, we

conclude that, challege toward biological

warefare has to be, respond and orgsnised at

some levels like awareness,enhancing public

health response, research, rapid diagnosis or

vaccines or drugs. as a strategy international

collaberation is must necessary. the institute of

allergy and infection diseases made the right call

tapping into the brain power of george mason

university to conduct this vital reasearch.

MINDS ARE OPENED

WHEN HEARTS ARE OPENED

INDIA has a great diversity of culture, traditions,

customs, etc. Since ancient times INDIA has made

development in each and every field. INDIA had

many great men and women who have fought

each and every obstacle in their lives and have

taught us many values and awakened our minds

against many superstitions and black beliefs

towards Religion, Culture, Traditions and

HUMANITY.

Today, INDIA and the whole world is in the stage of st

21 century. Many scientific and cultural

developments hasbeen achieved by INDIA in the

past decade. INDIA is a developing country and is

advancing to be a developed one. Various

inventions and ideologies have led our country.

But all these achievements are not enough for the

welfare of our motherland, INDIA .Since ancient

times our ancestors have been following various

backward customs like SATI (an age-old custom in

which the woman is burnt alive after her

husband's death), DOWRY (a custom in which the

bridegroom's family demand money from the

bride's family before marriage) FEMALE

INFANTICIDE, TONTURE (forcing the woman to

cut her hair after her husband's death) . Many

leaders and reformers have come forth and

presented their ideas and thoughts.th th

It was during the 18 and 19 century, especially

during the British rule in India that leaders like

Lord Bentinck, Raja Ram Mohan Roy and many

other great leaders had presented and spoken

their views in front of the Indian society.

The Indian people during the Mughal and British

era followed a variety of Black Faith and Social

Malpractices. In mot of these malpractices

women were tortured and forced to follow them

against their will.

Though many leaders have awakened the Indian

society against these malpractices, still these

practices are prevalent in the Indian Society. All

the practices still exist in the rural areas of India

mostly in the northern part of India.

Raja Ram Mohan Roy was one of the pioneers

who worked for the abolishment of Sati. It is

because of his broad and open-mindedness that

he refused the practice of Sati. He had studied

various religious books which helped him to

broadened his outlook towards the people. Due

to his efforts the practice of Sati was abolished. It

is just because of Raja Ram Mohan Roy that all the

widows in today's India are safe and are leading a

good respected life. They are even encouraged to

go for a remarriage.

Dowry among these is practiced the most. First,

the bride's family used to give money to the

bridegroom's family as a gift. But now it is

practiced as an obligation. If the bride's family is

unable to pay the huge amount demanded by the

bridegroom, then they would torture and even

beat the bride. They commit suicide due to

extreme torture and bad treatment. In India

according to year 2007 statistics, there were

almost 2,945 cases of dowry suicides in India.

Though many acts have been passed on this

issue but still the Indian Government has not

achieved complete positive result. But changes

are taking place, Changes won't be possible

unless and until the youth, the young generation

do not broaden their outlook. The educated

youth boys should decide to refuse to follow the

Dowry system. On the other hand girls should

refuse to give dowry or should not get married to

a person who demands dowry.

Nowadays, the girls are educated and are holding

high position in different fields and offices. It is

only through the open mind and open heart that

there will be a progressed and peaceful world.

The other challenge that the world is facing is the

Page 22: Shree Chanakya Education Society's INDIRA COLLEGE OF ... · visionary, Dr. Tarita Shankar, Chairperson, Indira Group, integrated her pursuit of excellence and articulated educational

difference between religion, caste and creed.

Though education has spread, still in rural areas

education against caste differences have not been

taught and practiced.

Since the Medieval period, especially during the

British rule there had been oppression and

injustice on the lower caste people in the villages

of Northern India. These lower caste people in

these villages are known as 'Shudra' or 'Dalit'

(Untouchable). In these villages these people are

treated like animals. They are not even allowed

too participate in the festivals and daily affairs of

the villages. Sometimes these people are beaten

and ill-treated for no mistake of theirs. Though

they may be innocent they are still treated badly.

Many great leaders have awakened the rural

people against the caste differences prevailing in

the Indian society. Among these great leaders was

The Father OF Indian Constitution 'Dr.

BabasahebAmbedkar'. He supported the Dalits

and gave them anhelping hand in fighting the

injustices done to them. Due to his this support

and leadership many benefits have been given to

the dalits.

But even after all these efforts of Dr.

BabasahebAmbedkar , this culture of caste

differences are still made in India .

There are often conflicts and disputes between

various communities too. Usually whenever

intercastemarriages takes place, there are often

major conflicts between two castes. This leads to

severe killings and especially Honour killing.

Generally, this enmity between two castes passes

on from one generation to another.

We should educate the people to broaden

their outlook. Today's youth, girls as well as boys

should try to go out and reach to the people and

broaden their outlook and open their mind to

treat one another equally with Love and Respect.

The clashes taking place is also major issue

related to Religion, especially between Hindu

and Muslims. The conflicts between these two

religions are one of the most dangerous threats

to the Indian society.

The biggest example is the GUJARAT RIOTS that

had taken place in the year 2002. Leaving this

issue, there are many such examples in which

such major conflicts have taken place. In these

conflicts, mostly the innocent people suffer.

These conflicts mostly are caused due to

smallreasons. These conflicts are mainly caused

by those people who have selfish and bad

intention of destroying the peace of the country.

Here the question arises: WHY IS THE

GOVERNMENT NOT STRICT TO ALL THOSE

CREATING TERROER FOR NO REASON AND

DESTROYING THE PEACE OF THE SOCIETY?

The biggest terror that the whole world is facing

is NATIONALITY. It is the only issue that is creating

Wars and Terrorist activities between nations.

The biggest example is the 26/11 Attack in

November created by Pakistan terrorist in

Mumbai and another example is the 9/11 Attack

created by Afghani terrorists in New York, U.S.A.

destroying the World Trade Centre killing

hundreds of innocent lives in these two blasts.

These countries have huge enmity for small

reasons. One such example of nationality was in

1739 that Britain went to war against Spain

because a Spanish soldier had sliced off the ear

of a British officer named Robert Jenkins. There

are many other such examples related to

Nationality caused due to small reasons.

Here the question arises: CAN'T THESE

SMALL REASONS BETWEEN NATIONS BE SOLVED

BY PEACEFUL MEANS WITHOUT USING ANY

ARMS AND WEAPONS?

Page 23: Shree Chanakya Education Society's INDIRA COLLEGE OF ... · visionary, Dr. Tarita Shankar, Chairperson, Indira Group, integrated her pursuit of excellence and articulated educational

By creating these wars the main suffers are the

common people. Due to this enmity between

nations, terrorist activities increase on a major

scale.

There are many great people who have strived

and taught the whole world that all problems can

be solved by Love and Respect towards each

other. One such example is of the first Nobel Prize

Recipient, HENRY DUNANT.

Henry Dunant was a son of a wealthy

businessman. When Henry grew up to be an

ambitious banker, he used to visit different

countries for tours. During one of his trips to a

place in north Italy, Dunant had an experience

which changed the entire course of his life. Henry

had witnessed a war between France and Austria

taking place outside a city called Solferino. Several

thousands of men were killed by bullets or

crushed under the hoofs of the horses. When the

battle ended after 15 hours, over 50 thousand

men were killed and several thousands were

wounded. Henry with the help of some sincere

volunteers took the wounded to a church and

started treating them. When Henry was attending

a soldier from Austria, a woman said to him “The

man you are helping is our enemy.” At that time

Henry stood up and said to her “Yes, but also he is

a human being.” His this message spread

throughout the world. He this message to the

world 'Service to HUMANITY is Service to GOD'

became well known.

Like Henry there were many great leaders like

Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, etc. who

served the humanity. Mahatma Gandhi's

teachings of Non-violence proved that 'All

disputes and conflicts can be solved only by

peaceful means.' If we use arms and create wars

the matter may get more worse. It is truly said

that Earth will be a better if wars and terrorism

do not exist.

If there will be no discrimination on caste,

religion, creed and nationality, if all human

beings are treated equally with Love, Respect

and Affection and if all the nations will live and

support each other a feeling of Brotherhood,

then the world will be better place to live in.

MORAL : - In life , things happen aroun us, things happen to us.but the the only thing that truly matters is how you choose to react to it and what you make out of it. life is all about learning , adopting and converting all the struggles that we experience into somthing positive.

it.The sky I see is quite huge and limitless

Its all your because of big thoughtsThe birds which I see is chirping altogether

It shows all your freedom and happinessThe moment I became sad

Its you who brings a bub of colours for meThe moment I became you

Its all you, when you smiled seemlesslyThe things which I thought you might get

forget. Its you who often surprises me remembering

of those very little things happened to me.

Ankita Singh, FY BBM - IB

Wake up dreams

Dream speaks when it truly dipped with efforts.

Its noise has silence as stilllike a flower blooms in the garden

slides of sweet moments keep on coming upGazing over a blue sky for a long time

thinking of something which is beyond ones reach

Is the stars glitters moon shines brighter the more darken night it becomes.

Touching to someones heart who is near to you

Influencing like it truly belongs to youA part from dreams lets connect with realities

add some essence of efforts and turn to possibilities.

I really wanted grow with my strengthswith adding some more flavour

of hurdless blender.Leading to the way I choosen

Eventually it belongs to me and my way.I pool of opportunities is

waiting onto the door Its high time to left up everything

and trip to an opportunitiesJust smile and calcmup every situation

Beyond every things just step up to fulfilall your imaginations

DARKNESS OF MY OWN

Walking far away the distanceturning the light along the sun

talking to myselfHey loo, what i have done?

another day will arisethe sun will glow

living with a hope that it might killthe darkness of my own

yet, there was a change insideno one to talk with

giving my best to kill the living beastfar away the ocean

all the baffeling voices which echoed

made me realisemy mind was the darkness &

Make Your Own Decisions

I'll start with a story which I heard a few days back. There were 2 very intelligent guys studying in IIT a

while ago. These 2 kids were very good friends and exceptionally talented (of course all those who get a

chance in IIT are exceptionally talented). Now after studying for 4 years one of them went on to pursue

MBA in Harvard and the other one got into Apple. The one who got a MBA degree went on to become a

Marketing guy of a successful firm some years later. He had to go to Kolkata due to some work. His car

broke down for some reason and they took him to a near-by garage. There he saw his friend from IIT

after so many years working in a garage repairing cars. He was shocked to find his friend there and was

uncertain of what the hell was he doing there. He asked him,” How come you are here working in a

garage. You are one of the smartest kid I knew in college & I thought by now you might have been a CEO

of some company”

What his friend replied was,” I did work for Apple for few years, I came back to India, made a company

that made fuel efficiency and sold that and then started this garage because all I really loved was

repairing cars with my very own hands”

After a few years when the Marketing guy was retiring he said this to his young friend ,” I am 65 years old

& I am vice president of a company but my only regret in life is that I didn't live a life I wanted to live but I

chose to live a life that somebody else wanted me to live”

Therefore don't let others make decisions for you. You want something, get it. No one in the world can

stop you from achieving the goals you have set for yourself, but you. Cold feet, parents pressure, societal

norms shouldn't come into the picture when you're a making an important decision for yourself. It's not

them who are going to live your life.

This is the golden period of your life. You are old enough to make the right decisions and young enough to

make the wrong ones. Age is in your favor. So just break your shackles and don't limit yourself. Grab

opportunities to visit new places, meet interesting people & stop judging other's & yourself. Create

memories for yourself and your next generation and be the best you, you can be!

IBM (Internaonal Business Machines) is by far the world's largest informaon technology

company in terms of revenue ($88 billion in 2000) and by most other measures, a posion it has held

for about the past 50 years. IBM products include hardware and soware for a line of

businessservers, storage products, custom-designed microchips, and applicaon soware.

Increasingly, IBM derives revenue from a range of consulng and outsourcing services. With the

advent of the low-cost microchip, the personal computer, distributed compung, open rather than

proprietary standards, and the Internet, IBM has seen its posion of dominance challenged as the

world of informaon technology no longer revolves around a single company. Yet investors and

competors connue to be impressed by IBM's long-established base of customers among middle-

sized and Fortune 100 businesses and its ability to adapt its products and services to a changing

marketplace.

About Videoconferencing:

Videoconferencing means to conduct aconference between two or more parcipants at different

sites by using computer networks to transmit audio and videodata. For example, a point-to-point

(two-person) video conferencing systemworks much like a video telephone. Each parcipant has a

video camera, microphone, and speakers mounted on his or her computer. As the two parcipants

speak to one another, their voices are carried over the network and delivered to the other's

speakers, and whatever images appear in front of the video camera appear in a window on the other

parcipant's monitor.

Mulpoint videoconferencing allows three or more parcipants to sit in a virtual conference room

and communicate as if they were sing right next to each other. Unl the mid 90s, the hardware

costs made videoconferencing prohibively expensive for most organizaons, but that situaon is

changing rapidly. Many analysts believe that videoconferencing will be one of the fastest-growing

segments of the computer industry in the laer half of the decade.

A videoconference is a live connecon between people in separate locaons for the purpose of

communicaon, usually involving audio and oen text as well as video. At its simplest,

videoconferencing provides transmission of stac images and text between two locaons. At its

most sophiscated, it provides transmission of full-moon video images and high-quality audio

between mulple locaons.

Impact on educaon

Videoconferencing provides students with the opportunity to learn by parcipang in two-way

communicaon forums. Furthermore, teachers and lecturers worldwide can be brought to remote

or otherwise isolated educaonal facilies. Students from diverse communies and backgrounds

can come together to learn about one another, although language barriers will connue to persist.

Such students are able to explore, communicate, analyze and share informaon and ideas with one

another. Through videoconferencing, students can visit other parts of the world to speak with their

peers, and visit museums and educaonal facilies. Such virtual field trips can provide enriched

learning opportunies to students, especially those in geographically isolated locaons, and to the

economically disadvantaged. Small schools can use these technologies to pool resources and

provide courses, such as in foreign languages, which could not otherwise be offered.
