Passionate about promoting art and our local talented Artists, Luisa Ramazzotti was instrumental in setting up the first Perthshire Open Studios in 2008.

Born in Italy, Luisa came to Scotland in 1997. She has been teaching and exhibiting regularly since graduating from Duncan of Jordanstone in Dundee, with a Batchelor of Art degree in 1996 and a Masters in 2008. In the same year she was awarded The Perth and Kinross Visual Artists Award.

Luisa’s colourful and evocative paintings are inspired by her native Italy and the Scottish landscape. Whether under the trees of a secret garden or in the middle of the Venetian lagoon, Luisa’s aspiration is to capture in paint the changeable weather and shifting light. In her images she wishes to transmit the experience of a being in a place, with the smells, feelings and emotions that accompany that experience. She enjoys the sense of urgency and speed of execution required when painting outside but she also loves working in her studio where her paintings are developed from drawings, memory and imagination.

Luisa’s more recent digital paintings are created on her iPad.

to Perthshire Open Studios 2017!This year’s event is the 10th anniversary of Perthshire Open Studios. Earlier this year we held a very successful exhibition as part of the Platform week, with around 100 of our members exhibiting. This provided a good taster for the main event, which once again has over 200 artists in 143 studios, workshops and galleries, open to the public, plus our regular showcase exhibition at the The Bield, showing work from artists right across the region.

This guide helps you plan your visits: choose a route, or a particular form of art that interests you and use the coloured maps and the directory to make the most of the time you have to spend. Cafes and other eating places along the way are highlighted, to help you plan an enjoyable day out in the stunning scenery of Perthshire and Kinross-shire.

We are constantly looking for opportunities to improve the visitor experience and therefore your feedback is important to us. Forms will be available at venues for this purpose so do please to let us know what you think. You can also visit our website or facebook page to leave comments.
