Welcome to our first BIG WEEKENDER for 2019, our Spring Show ‘The Good Life: Revive, Recycle, Restore’. This event has been created with you and our environment in mind. Please read through this programme to plan your visit, as there are many wonderful talks, demonstrations and activities for you to get involved in. Why not hear about the impact of fast fashion, learn how to upcycle, or even create something new out of something old? How about swap a pre-loved item of clothing for a new addition to your wardrobe, learn how to make a meal with zero waste, relax and join in a yoga class, or perhaps even experience a soundbath? All this and much more is on offer here, at the Museum over the weekend… just make sure you read the timetables so you don’t miss out.

Why not treat yourself to a spot of shopping and visit our wonderful stall holders in the Craft and Very Vintage marquees? Don’t forget to pay a visit to the Museum’s gift shop too.

If you fancy a break or some refreshments, please visit our Food Village or the Museum’s Waterside Café by the millpond.

If you are visiting on Sunday, 5 May there will be an opening address by Gillian Keegan, MP of Chichester to celebrate the ‘Year of Green Action’ at 10:45am on the Music Stage located in the Food Village. Between 1 – 4pm pop down to the events field near the Textiles Tent and meet the Spirit FM team, who will be broadcasting live from the Museum, who knows, you may even get ‘on air’!

We hope you enjoy your day.

This show programme‘s content was correct at time of print, however it is subject to change at short notice.

Children’s Crafts & ActivitiesThe Good Life is designed for our future generations too. We have many exciting and entertaining activities for children to get involved in, from juggling, riding a unicycle to forest art, yoga and ‘make and take’ craft activities.

Juggling Jake’s Circus Skills - Have a go at juggling balls, scarves, clubs, or even spinning plates, hoola-hoops, poi, diabolos or flower & devil sticks. Try lasso or wooden stilts, what about fun wheels, pedal-go’s, mini-bikes & unicycles? Make your way to the colourful Circus Tent!

Tiny Lands Workshops - ‘Bee’ themed craft activities using natural organic materials located in the Kids Crafts Tent.

Mini Beast Walk & Forest Art - Session times are 11am, 12:30pm & 3pm starting from the ‘Kids Craft Tent’. Join the Museum’s History Gang leaders, Jessica and Jonny, and go on a walk to discover what mini beasts are lurking around the Museum. Check out the Bug Hotels created by the History Gang and search for beautiful butterflies and marvellous mini beasts, before gathering natural materials to create your very own piece of ground art. This session is being offered as an excellent way for children to experience the many benefits of woodland exploration and outdoor learning, and appreciate the essential role that mini beasts play in supporting our natural environment and sustaining life on earth.

Visit the Face Painter in the ‘Kids Craft Tent’, small charges will apply.

Join Tory and the museum’s activity team in the ‘Kids Craft Tent’, activities to include: Paint a rock bug, make a paper earthworm, plant a sunflower.
