  • THE SIX TYPES OF PHOTOS

  • WIDESHOT

Shows overall space. You'll want at least one wide shot in

    each main space.

If it's a particularly beautiful space or has several good

angles, consider getting one or two more.

  • ONE POINT PERSPECTIVE

    Taken straight ahead.

Look for wall decoration, an open cupboard with

beautiful decoration in it, a sideboard with a bouquet

    of flowers on it etc.

  • VIGNETTE

    Creating a moment

You're telling a story, so consider the activities that happen

in that space. Reading a book on the sofa, breakfast in bed,

bath or shower time, cooking with products from the local

market, drinking a glass of wine outside on the terras etc.

  • DETAIL

Show the qualities that often get lost in other shots

Aim for 5 or more details in every room, depending on the

    styling. Texture, material & craftmanship.

  • TRANSITION

    Interaction between two spaces

How many transition shots you get varies based on the

layout of the spaces. Look for viewpoints through

doorways and which spaces are connecting.

  • INDOOR - OUTDOOR

    Showing the outdoor spaces

Like the transitions, the number of photos connecting to

the outdoors will vary depending on the accommodation.

If the view or the surroundings are beautiful, I try to take

at least one solid photo per room that shows the outdoor

    life.
