From short courses and language and literacy classes, through to support services, childcare and more, we respond to the needs of our community by offering a wide range of programs and services that are accessible, responsive and fun.

This play and movement experience, creative dance encourages music appreciation, imagination, sharing and socialisation. Uses children’s natural curiosity to develop and enjoy dance, yoga, meditation and play. A different theme every week, with lots to see and do.

Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) ProgramAre you registered with Centrelink? If so, you may be eligible for FREE classes to improve your skills and confidence in reading, writing, everyday maths, computers and English language, to help you gain employment.

Classes include:

Resource development YCC has worked with a variety of government departments and organisations in developing learning and informational resources appropriate for low-literacy and English as an Additional Language for adult learners. Contact us if you would like to work with YCC in developing resources or materials.

Language and literacy assessments Through a one or one-and-a-half hour interview, our literacy assessors can give a comprehensive assessment and written report of your learning, reading, writing, oral communication (speaking and listening) and numeracy skills using the Australian Core Skills Framework. This assessment will highlight your strengths and areas for improvement. This is an important tool for targeting your language learning and working out what level of training you are ready for (such as Certificate II, III or IV).

One-on-one classesSome people prefer to learn privately for a variety of reasons. We offer one-on-one classes with a trained language and literacy teacher. The times and content of the class can be negotiated with the teacher after an initial appointment. For WorkCover recipients, this activity may be approved and paid for as a return to work activity.

Yarraville Community Centre is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) (TOID 4207) and Learn Local provider.

We offer a range of government funded accredited and pre-accredited training programs. Our vocational education training programs are delivered with Victorian and Commonwealth Government funding. People with disabilities are encouraged to access training. Please note eligibility requirements apply to concession fees for all accredited training.

Yarraville Book Club Interested in joining a local book group? If so, call us on 9687 1560 and we’ll give you the coordinator’s contact details. The group meets in the homes of the members on a monthly basis and reads a variety of fiction, non-fiction and memoir. The meetings are informal and fun. It’s a great way to share your love of reading and meet some locals.

Rooms for hire and large hallWe have various rooms to suit meetings, seminars, workshops and children’s parties. These are available for casual or ongoing bookings.
