Shoring for Groundworks ProjectsAs the newcomer to the ground works sector, RMD Kwikform took the opportunity to speak to the industry and review current ground shoring systems already in the marketplace. As a result, we adopted a new, innovative approach to design and manufacturing and launched the first fully CE-marked (EN1090 execution Class 3) fleet of ground shoring and trenching solutions. We also offer complete compatibility between proprietary and structural steel solutions.
No matter the depth, shape or size of excavation; whether you’re supporting aretaining wall, require trench support or basement propping, our groundworkssolutions will ensure you get the job done safely and swiftly.

Digital Engineering
To support our groundworks customers, our ground shoring and trenching solutions can be viewed through our 3D visualisation software, LocusEye. By integrating a 3D solution into our groundworks offering, our customers can view, interrogate and physically ‘walk-through’ their project using augmented and virtual reality. This grants complete transparency as customers can see exactly how our temporary works solutions fit together with their permanent works; offering clash detection and ensuring the safety of ground workers.

Larssen Sheet PilesLarssen Sheet Piles are strong and durable.Commonly used for retaining walls and small and large cofferdams, RMD Kwikform has a variety of lengths and sections available that are compatible with varying ground conditions and loadings.

Sheet Pile WallsSheet pile walls can be used to retain earth and water on both shallow and deep excavations. For retained heights up to 3.0m, sheet piles can be used in cantilever, providing the support you need to withstand the potential collapse of materials without the need for bracing, whilst keeping you safe during excavation works.
Raking Props

For retaining walls in weak soils and / or heavy loading, raking props provide robust lateral support for deflection control and stabilisation of retaining walls in combination with a waler system. RMD Kwikform’s ‘NEW’ Tubeshor is available in sizes 320, 610 & 1060 and is the only fully integrated ‘hybrid’ hydraulic bracing system with mechanical lock-off on the market.
Shoring for Retaining WallsRetaining walls are typically used to support shallow heights of ground of up to three metres; here adjacent site space is limited or restricted and battering back is not an option. Retaining walls provide a vertical wall face, which will maximise space at the base of the wall. For weak ground conditions and/or depths above three metres, raking props and waler beams may be needed to provide further wall support.

Box SystemsOur box systems; including manhole, trench, drag and backhoe boxes are designed for simple assembly and maximum flexibility. Each system grants market-leading strength to weight ratio when compared to other systems in the market.
Pipe LayingWhen undertaking pipe laying applications, it’s important to have systems in place that will ensure maximum levels of safety.With our pipe lifters and drag boxes, pipes can be removed from transit and installed quickly without compromising other works on site or the safety of ground workers.
Trench Sheets and WalersTrench sheets are the ideal solution for supporting smaller trenches and the installation of utilities. Panel trench sheets used in conjunction with struts and walers ensure maximum safety on site.

Trench Support SystemsTrench systems are typically used in long, narrow and usually shallow excavations where pipe and other utilities are installed. The equipment used within these applications is usually lightweight, with specification dependent on ground conditions, site equipment and existing services. Hydraulic WalersOur hydraulic walers are modular steel beams with full moment capacity joints that connect together to offer large clearances and spans up to 28.0m – ideal for tank installations and medium to large excavations.
Hydraulic PropsHydraulic props are used for supporting waling beams or capping beams in large excavations to achieve large spans and optimum spacings, or for vertical applications such as bridge bearing replacement.
The Tubeshor prop is the only fully integrated ‘hybrid’ hydraulic bracing system withmechanical lock-off on themarket.Manhole Braces
Double Acting hydraulic braces are the lightest and strongest braces available on the market. Used in conjunction with trench sheets, this is an optimum solution to safely brace smaller trenches and excavations up to 6.0m2.

Cofferdams and Tank InstallationsSmall and large cofferdams are usually four sided excavations utilising sheets and frames. For smaller cofferdams, excavators are traditionally used for installation, whereas the installation of sheets and frames in large cofferdams may involve ground and water retention, ultimately requiring a pre-driven method of installation. RMD Kwikform has a range of trench sheets, sheet piles, and hydraulic walers and props to support cofferdams and any tank or utility installation.

Basement ProppingWhen faced with basement construction, it is vital that the right propping and shoring solutions are adopted to ensure the safe and productive delivery of the structure. As basements start to get deeper and more intricate, temporary props will provide support to waler beams or wall supports to ensure high clearances across the span of the basement. RMD Kwikform's props are designed to free-span up to 50.0m and will utilise different end connection details to suit your application.

Load MonitoringLoad monitoring is essential tool on any ground works project. Once proprietary props are installed it is simple to review, in real-time, the ground movements and wall deviation with load monitoring technology.
