The Shoreham-Wading River Central School District Board of Education is the authorized agency responsible forsetting educational policy in the District. It consists of seven members who each serve three-year terms and receive nosalary or other financial compensation.

The meetings, except for Executive Sessions, are held before the public. The Board of Education may convene toExecutive Session immediately after opening the meeting. At the end of the Executive Session, the Board of Educationwill re-convene to the Regular Meeting.

Arrival and departure times of the Board of Education members shall be noted in the minutes and within the order ofevents.

A maximum of half hour will be allocated for agenda items Statements of Residents with a three minute limit perindividual. Each speaker must be a resident of the District. Residents wishing to make comments or raise questionsshall state their name and address. Public discussion is prohibited on matters relating to staff and students at whichtheir reputation, privacy, or rights to due process or the rights of others to due process, could be in some way violated.

Residents will be permitted to participate in Board of Education discussion and agenda item Discussion, howeverBoard of Education members will speak first. Each resident will be limited to one input with a two minute maximum. Atime limit for residents discussion will be no more than 10 minutes unless a majority of the Board wants to extend thetime due to the nature of the topic. Residents will address the Board and not each other during this discussion.

Each Board Member voting on a motion shall be permitted to state the reason for doing so and the statement shall benoted in the minutes.

The public, in its comments, will refrain from making any direct references to student or staff members. Suchreferences to individual students or staff members are inappropriate in a public forum and should instead be conductedin private conversation with an appropriate member of the staff.

#1314-152 Author izat ion for Law Clerk Services: RESOLVED, the Board of Education of the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District hereby approvesan hourly rate of $135.00 for litigation support services performed on behalf of the District by Law Clerksemployed by Guercio and Guercio, LLP, as more fully set forth in correspondence from Guercio and Guercio,LLP dated July 18, 2013.

#1314-153 Guercio and Guercio, LLP General Counsel Contract:

RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District herebyapproves an agreement between the District and Guercio and Guercio, LLP to serve as the Districts GeneralCounsel for the 2014-2015 school year for a retainer fee of $49,000.00 (the same fee as the 2013-2014 schoolyear). The President of the Board is authorized to sign this contract and thereby signify the Boardsacceptance to the agreement.

#1314-154 Guercio and Guercio, LLP Labor Counsel Contract:RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District herebyapproves a contract between the District and Guercio and Guercio, LLP as Labor Counsel for the District forthe 2014-2015 school year at $42,000.00 for the year as a retainer fee. The President of the Board isauthorized to sign this contract and thereby signify the Boards acceptance to the agreement.

#1314-155 Boots and Saddles Production (at Miller Avenue) Contract: RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District herebyapproves a contract between the District and Boots and Saddles Productions for an on-site presentation andCivil War demonstration at Miller Avenue Elementary School for the 5 thgrade class on June 10, 2014 (raindate June 13, 2014) at a fee of $3,450.00. The Superintendent is authorized to sign this contract and therebysignify the Boards acceptance to the agreement.

#1314-156 Donation(s) from Wildcat Athletic Club on Behalf of the Field Renovation Committee:RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District accepts thefollowing donation(s) and, if necessary, approves the appropriate budget line(s) to be increased by thatamount:

1. To Shoreham-Wading River Central School District from Wildcat Athletic Club (WAC) on behalf of theField Renovation Committee:One (1) portable 8 foot aluminum scoring platform valued at $3,637.96.

#1314-157 Donations:

RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District accepts thefollowing donation(s) and, if necessary, approves the appropriate budget line(s) to be increased by thatamount:

1. To Miller Avenue Elementary School from Miller Avenue PTO:Check # 1922 in the amount of $3,450.00 for a Civil War demonstration Boots and Saddles for the 5

grade students on June 10, 2014, and processed through Code A2850.4000.11.000.

#1314-157 2013-2014 Academic Calendar Revision:WHEREAS, the Board of Education of the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District ratifies the revisionto the 2013-2014 Academic Calendar by adding an instructional day of February 21, 2014 and hereby adoptsthe revised 2013-2014 Academic Calendar.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Shoreham-Wading River Central SchoolDistrict hereby approves a revision to the 2013-2014 Academic Calendar by adding the below instructionaldays in the event there will be additional school closings:
