Shop for Prescription Medications with ScriptHero Introducing ScriptHero

We’re excited to introduce ScriptHero®, a cost-transparency tool from our colleagues at CoverMyMeds®. It’s called a cost-transparency tool because it gives you a way to search for prescription medications online and compare prices before setting foot in the pharmacy. And that means fewer surprises and hidden costs at the pharmacy counter.

Savings and Convenience

ScriptHero offers a cash price. The cash price is a discounted amount you can pay out of pocket, instead of paying through your health insurance, that is frequently lower than pharmacy list prices.

ScriptHero also provides a convenient way to manage your prescriptions. When you use ScriptHero’s digital marketplace, which includes ScriptHero Pharmacy, you can select the price and location that’s best for you. And once you (or your doctor) send your prescription to ScriptHero Pharmacy, ScriptHero can handle the rest by transferring your prescription to the pharmacy of your choice (see Ashley’s example on p. 6).

ScriptHero Is Good — And Getting Better

We invite you to become an early user of this new McKesson technology platform. We’re working to add more functions, and you can expect to hear more about those exciting improvements in the coming months. Until then, we’re happy to pass on the possibility of savings to you.

Earn 35 Vitality Points! You can earn 35 Vitality Points™ for creating a ScriptHero account.* * You must be eligible to participate in Vitality to earn

Vitality Points.

Follow These Steps to Try ScriptHero

You don’t need to fill a prescription or be enrolled in a McKesson medical plan to try ScriptHero. Simply:

Create a ScriptHero account:

• If you’re a U.S.-based McKesson employee, go to mckesson.scripthero.com/sign-up.

• If you’re not a McKesson employee, you can still enjoy ScriptHero discounts at scripthero.com.

Page 3: Shop for Prescription Medications with ScriptHero · acid reflux medication, Omeprazole, and needs to refill his prescription. He checks the label on his medication and sees he has

TIP If you have a new prescription to fill, ask your doctor to send it to ScriptHero Pharmacy. See Ashley’s example on p. 6.

McKesson HSA and HSA Plus Plan Members Entering your CVS Caremark information ensures that medications on the CVS Caremark HSA Preventive Therapy Drug List show up as $0 for generic medications or 10% of the cost of brand-name medications. If the prescription you enter shows your cost as $0 for a generic medication or 10% of the cost for a brand-name medication, don’t use ScriptHero. Instead, use your McKesson medical plan to fill your prescription.

However, if you’re taking a medication that is not on the CVS Caremark HSA Preventive Therapy Drug List, we encourage you to check out ScriptHero’s cash price. Please note — ScriptHero can’t show how much you pay using your McKesson medical plan at this time. It’s important to look up the cash price of your medication on the CVS Caremark website (or app) by logging on to your CVS Caremark account at www.caremark.com to compare your McKesson medical plan price to ScriptHero’s cash price.

3

5. If the ScriptHero cash price is less than what you’d pay through your medical plan, consider using ScriptHero. Under the Choose Your Cash Price section, select the cash price. Then choose a pick-up pharmacy near you and click Select. ScriptHero then gives you a digital card to show to the pharmacist. You can print, text, screenshot or email the card to yourself.

If you use ScriptHero instead of your medical plan benefit, the amount you pay for your medication will not count toward your medical plan’s annual deductible or out-of-pocket maximum.

You can use money from your health savings account to pay for the medication.

4. Enter your zip code to compare ScriptHero cash prices at local pharmacies. If you’re enrolled in the McKesson HSA or HSA Plus medical plan, be prepared to enter information from your CVS Caremark prescription medication ID card.

If you’ve already met or plan to meet your medical plan’s deductible or out-of-pocket maximum so McKesson will pay all or a portion of the cost of your medical expenses, be sure to carefully consider if using ScriptHero makes the most sense for you. Generally, once you’ve satisfied your deductible, your McKesson medical plan pays 80% of the cost of generic and preferred brand-name medications (outside of the preventive medication lists) and 60% of the cost of non-preferred brand-name medications. Also, once you’ve satisfied your out-of-pocket maximum, the plan pays 100% of eligible expenses.

ScriptHero in Action

Samantha just learned about ScriptHero and wants to see how it can work for her.

Samantha recently filled a prescription medication through her McKesson medical plan. She paid $250 out of pocket at the pharmacy she usually visits, and that amount counted toward her deductible.

She visits the ScriptHero website to compare prices for the prescription medication she recently filled.

She creates a profile and searches for her medication.

Before Samantha fills her next prescription, she plans to compare the ScriptHero cash price to the price she’d pay using her McKesson medical plan.

Samantha learns that she could’ve paid as little as $50 at a convenient pharmacy by paying the ScriptHero cash price. Although those $50 wouldn’t have counted toward her medical plan’s deductible, paying $200 less for her medication may have made a big difference for her budget.

ScriptHero’s cash price may not be the lowest. It’s important to compare ScriptHero’s cash price to your medical plan’s price before filling your prescription.

George needs a refill for his medication. He has recently learned about ScriptHero and decides to give it a try.

George is almost out of his acid reflux medication, Omeprazole, and needs to refill his prescription. He checks the label on his medication and sees he has one refill left.

George is a U.S.-based McKesson employee and an HSA plan member, so he goes to mckesson.scripthero.com creates an account and searches for Omeprazole.

He enters his zip code and information from his CVS Caremark prescription medication ID card.

ScriptHero generates a card for George to show the pharmacist when he picks up the medication at his newly selected pharmacy location.

George compares the lowest cash price he found on ScriptHero to the price he’d pay using his McKesson medical plan. Since the ScriptHero cash price is lower, he chooses that pharmacy and clicks Select.

Curious about how much the medication would cost through his McKesson medical plan, George logs on to the CVS Caremark website (www.caremark.com) to see how much he’d pay with insurance.

George calls his current pharmacy to have them transfer his prescription to the pharmacy he selected on ScriptHero.

ScriptHero shows George a list of pharmacies near his home and how much his Omeprazole medication costs at each pharmacy.

The cash price George pays for his prescription doesn’t count toward his medical plan deductible or out-of-pocket maximum since he didn’t use his McKesson medical plan, but he does benefit from paying less for his medication thanks to ScriptHero.

Ashley learned about ScriptHero a few weeks ago and created an account. Here’s how she uses ScriptHero when getting a new prescription from her doctor.

Ashley has a painful sore throat that won’t go away and decides to see her doctor.

The doctor tells her she has strep throat and prescribes an antibiotic. Then the doctor asks Ashley, “Which pharmacy would you like to use for your prescription?”

Ashley responds, “ScriptHero Pharmacy, please.”

Ashley decides to compare the ScriptHero price to the price she’d pay using her McKesson medical plan. She logs on to the CVS Caremark website (www.caremark.com) to see how much she’d pay with insurance.

ScriptHero Pharmacy appears in the doctor’s computer system like any other pharmacy.

Ashley sees that her prescription would cost less with ScriptHero. So she goes back to the ScriptHero website, chooses a convenient pharmacy and clicks Select.

Ashley gets a text message from ScriptHero Pharmacy with a code for her prescription. She follows the prompts in the text to activate her prescription and begins shopping on the ScriptHero website for ScriptHero’s lowest price for her medication.

ScriptHero generates a card for Ashley to show the pharmacist when she picks up her prescription.

Ashley’s prescription purchase doesn’t count toward her McKesson medical plan deductible or out-of-pocket maximum.

Raymond is enrolled in the McKesson HSA Plus plan. He recently learned about ScriptHero and created an account. He has a recurring prescription he needs to refill and decides to give ScriptHero a try.

Raymond logs on to his ScriptHero account and searches for his medication.

He enters his zip code and information from his CVS Caremark prescription medication ID card.

Raymond sees that his prescription costs $0 using his McKesson medical plan because it’s on the HSA Preventive Therapy Drug List. Since his price is $0 through his McKesson medical plan, he uses that to fill his prescription instead of ScriptHero.

He chooses the CVS Caremark pharmacy closest to his home and shows his CVS Caremark ID at checkout.

What does ScriptHero mean by ‘cash price’? The ‘cash price’ is the price of your medication with ScriptHero instead of the price available through your McKesson medical plan (or any other plan). At this time, the amount you pay using ScriptHero doesn’t count toward your medical plan’s annual deductible or out-of-pocket maximum. You may wish to carefully consider this before using ScriptHero if you’re planning to meet your medical plan’s deductible so that McKesson will pay for a portion of the cost of your medical expenses. Generally, once you’ve satisfied your deductible, your McKesson plan will pay 80% of the cost of generic and preferred brand-name medications (outside of the preventive medications lists) and 60% of the cost of non-preferred brand-name medications. Also, when you meet your out-of-pocket maximum, the plan pays 100% of eligible expenses.

Will the cash price I pay with ScriptHero count toward my McKesson medical plan deductible or out-of-pocket maximum? Not at this time. The cash price you pay with ScriptHero won’t count toward your plan deductible or out-of-pocket maximum. Carefully consider this before using ScriptHero. ScriptHero is used in place of your McKesson medical plan.

Until then, your health matters, and ScriptHero is one way we’re doing what we can to make better health more affordable. The goal is to give you all the information you need to make the right decision when choosing care for yourself and your family, including making you aware of potential savings on medications when you pay cash.

I want to compare the ScriptHero price to my medical plan’s prescription medication benefit. What do I need to do?If you’re a McKesson HSA or HSA Plus plan member, it’s important to compare ScriptHero’s prices to the prices on the CVS Caremark website (or app) by logging on to your CVS Caremark account at www.caremark.com.

If you’re enrolled in a different medical plan, check your prescription medication carrier’s website.

How does ScriptHero compare? The ScriptHero price is lower than the GoodRx price 85% of the time.* It’s also frequently lower than the price you’d pay with a medical plan.**

Can I use my health savings account to pay ScriptHero’s cash price?Yes, you can pay ScriptHero’s cash price for your prescription medication with your health savings account.

My prescription medication is on the CVS Caremark HSA Preventive Therapy Drug List, so I pay $0 or only 10% of the cost for it. Should I use ScriptHero? No. Instead, use your McKesson medical plan to pay $0 for preventive generic medications and 10% of the cost for brand-name medications.

My prescription is in the class of controlled substances. Will I be able to fill it using ScriptHero? No. Controlled substances, such as opioids, are not currently available through ScriptHero.

I get my prescription medications by mail order. Can I still compare prices on ScriptHero?Yes. Compare ScriptHero’s cash price to the price you’re currently paying through your mail order program. Although ScriptHero doesn’t offer a mail order program at this time, we encourage you to compare prices, in case you want to use ScriptHero down the road.

Does ScriptHero offer home delivery for my prescription medication purchases? Not at this time, however, home delivery may be available to you through Health Mart®. There are thousands of locally owned and operated Health Mart pharmacies across all 50 states — and chances are there’s one near you. Go to www.healthmart.com and enter your zip code to find a Health Mart pharmacy near you.
