Technology-based business approach will enable distributed supply networks to efficiently deliver innovave product-services to customers with ex- tremely high service levels (at least 95%) in global markets characterized by demand and variant tur- bulence, thus parcularly exposed to worldwide disrupve (mainly economic) events. The develop- ment of this new business approach is based on four major pillars, namely innovave supply ser- vices, innovave product-services enabled by ICT, innovave methodologies for decision-making in- tegrang the plant and the supply network level and innovave business and assessment models for value creaon based on partnership. Innovave services will provide mechanisms for supply network coordinaon by producon-relat- ed informaon- and risk-sharing contracts, predic- ve maintenance and equipment reconfiguraon services for reliable plants. These services are pro- vided by the equipment suppliers to the OEMs and component suppliers, whereas remanufacturing services are provided by the OEM and component supplier in the aſtermarket. Feasibility will be demonstrated at machining and assembly processes in both inter- and intra-enter- prise environments. Technology-based business approach will enable distributed supply networks to efficiently deliver innovative product-services to customers with ex-tremely high service levels (at least 95%) in global markets characterized by demand and variant tur-bulence, thus particularly exposed to worldwide disruptive (mainly economic) events. The develop-ment of this new business approach is based on four major pillars, namely innovative supply ser-vices, innovative product-services enabled by ICT, innovative methodologies for decision-making in-tegrating the plant and the supply network level and innovative business and assessment models for value creation based on partnership.

Innovative services will provide mechanisms for supply network coordination by production-relat-ed information- and risk-sharing contracts, predic-tive maintenance and equipment reconfiguration services for reliable plants. These services are pro-vided by the equipment suppliers to the OEMs and component suppliers, whereas remanufacturing services are provided by the OEM and component supplier in the aftermarket.

Feasibility will be demonstrated at machining and assembly processes in both inter- and intra-enter-prise environments.

A Navigation & Simulation Cockpit will serve as a tool supporting decision makers on different lev-els of the plants and networks to react quickly and effectively to disturbances and uncertainties and keep the robustness of the overall network.

Shock-robust Design of Plants and their Supply Chain Networks

RobustPlaNet aims at developing technology-based business approaches that will drastically change the current rigid supply chain mechanisms and the current product-based business models into collaborative and robust production networks able to timely deliver inno-vative product services in very dynamic and unpredicta-ble global environments.

WP1: Design of innovative business approaches and service modelsThe RobustPlaNet project targets the generation of generalizable results in order to achieve the highest possible exploitability of the solution. This WP investigates the features, characteristics and requirements that the RobustPlaNet approach has to meet in order to become a universal solution.

WP2: Technical solutions for shock-robust plantsThis WP focuses on developing the technical en-abling technologies for allowing the implementa-tion at shop floor level of the innovative technical services and business models designed at WP1

WP3: Decision-making support for reconfigur-able supply chainsThe aim of this WP is to develop decision support tools applicable for industry related to supply chains. The tools to efficiently implement the busi-ness models related to supply chain coordination will be developed and tested.

WP4: Simulation and navigation cockpitThis WP will integrate all individual components of the system in one platform. After the finalization of the integration procedure, evaluation tests will be performed and necessary refinements will be proposed in order to produce the final prototype of the system.

WP5: Demonstration and Field testingIs in charge of demonstrating and validating the technological solutions gathered in WP1 to WP4 by integrating the technological developments into industrial demonstrators.
