Aunique MOU between Steinbeis Centre for Technology (A Network Centre of Steinbeis Gmbh and Co. furTechnologie Transfer, Germany) and Shobhit University was signed to develop and carryout collaborativeactivities in training, consultancy, technology development, services and areas of entrepreneurshipdevelopment. Dr. Ashok Salhan, Senior Scientist & Additional Director at Defence Institute of Physiologyand Allied Sciences (DIPAS), Delhi, visited the Centre for Biomedical Engineering, Shobhit University onDecember 18, 2010, to share his academic interests at the University; Senior Associate Professor, Dr.Bhaskar Mohan Murari, Vellore Institute of Technology,Vellore, interacted with the University Graduateson Dec 27, 2010. From the Vice-Chancellor's Desk
Shobhit University, in blazing grandeur and with bubbling enthusiasm, convened its secondth
convocation on 26 December, 2010 (Sunday) at University Campus in Meerut.
The program started with the convocation procession. Registrar, members of Academic
Council and Board of Management donned in their ceremonial dresses took part in the
procession. Ceremony started with lighting of Lamp by the Chief Guest, Shri Dhanendra Kumar,
Chairman, Competition Commission of India. This was followed by Saraswati Vandana, Vande
Mataram and Kulgeet. The Convocation was then declared open by Dr. Shobhit Kumar,
Honorable Chancellor. Prof. Anoop Swarup, Vice-Chancellor, delivered the welcome speech
and presented the vision, mission and a detailed report on the achievements of the University.

Prof. Swarup emphasized on the achievements of faculty and students whohave published numerous research papers in journals of international repute.He further stated that the University is marching ahead not only in the field ofechnical and professional education but is also sensitive to the social issues.
Honorable Chancellor awarded the degrees of Ph.D, MBA, M.Tech, MCA, andM.Pharm to the 355 students who successfully completed their courses. Whilegetting their degrees, all the recipients were administered an oath to be healthy,wealthy and generous, to make the nation powerful, happy and glorious, and noto deviate from the path of truth, duty, and deed of progress and welfare.
Shri Dhanendra Kumar, was conferred Honorary Degree of Doctor of Letters inecognition of his extraordinary contribution to administrative services and
nation building. Shri Shobhit Kumar, Chancellor awarded the degree of Doctor ofLetters to Shri Dhanendra Kumar.
Kunwar Shekhar Vijendra, Pro-Chancellor, welcomed the audience and statedhat convocation ceremony is an important event in the annals of any University.
Such a day for Shobhit University symbolizes the fulfilment of a dream throughcontinuous hard work and everlasting efforts in achieving the goal. He paid richribute to his mother who constantly motivates and inspires him and others toollow the path ushered by Babu Vijendra Kumar Ji. He suggested the students,
on completion of their studies in the University, to enter their Karam Bhumi andutilise their knowledge, skills and expertise acquired from the University for the
development of the society and improve the quality of life of the people of thecountry. Through their service to the nation, they would be able to repay theirdebt to their Alma Mater.
Shri Shobhit Kumar, Chancellor and Chief Guest, in his address welcomed thedistinguished guests, faculty, staff and degree recipients, and stated that theworld community is looking at India as this country is poised to become a vibrantnation of the youth in the very near future. He stated that he was feeling proud toconfer Honorary Degree of Doctor of Letters to Shri Dhanendra Kumar Ji. Heappealed to all, particularly to the student community that they should dedicatehemselves to the betterment and welfare of the society, country and the world.
n his key address on the convocation ceremony, Shri Dhanendra Kumar Ji,dwelt upon the rich cultural heritage and great potential of our country. He urgedhat the students passing out of Shobhit University should utilize their knowledge
and expertise with sincerity and dedication for the development of the countryand upliftment of the poor.
The Registrar of the University, Brig. (Retd.) S.K. Sareen, proposed the vote ofhanks to the distinguished guests, Chancellor, Pro-Chancellor, Vice-
Chancellor, members of the faculty, students, officers and staff of the University.

Dr. Ashok Salhan, Senior Scientist & Additional Director at Defence
Institute of Physiology and Allied Sciences (DIPAS) Lucknow Road,
Timarpur, Delhi, visited Centre for Biomedical Engineering, Shobhit
University on December 18, 2010, and interacted with the students
and faculty members of the University. Dr. Salhan advised
biomedical engineering students, how to design a career in
Biomedical Engineering and described biomedical engineering asa very broad subject that combines engineering techniques with
human biology to develop medically relevant technologies.
A brain storming session and workshop on Innovations
in Agri-Informatics program, Studies and Research wasthorganised by Shobhit University on 4 December 2010, at
University Tower, Delhi. The inaugural session wasattended by Mr. M. Moni, Deputy Director General,
National Informatics Centre, Prof. P. N. Bhatt, Chairman,World Buffallo Trust, Prof. R. B. Singh, Former Director,
IARI and Prof. Anoop Swarup, Vice-Chancellor,Shobhit University. Dr. M. Moni, addressed the gatheringand discussed the need for awareness regarding
Agri-informatics amongst agriculture graduates whichwill lead to the enhancement in productivity and quality of
food production. The curriculum for Agri-informatics(M.Tech.) program was discussed and various
suggestions were incorporated.

Transfer India (A Network Centre of Steinbeis Gmbh and Co. fur
Technologie Transfer Germany) and Shobhit University was signed
recently with a view to develop and carryout collaborative activities in
Training, Consultancy, Technology Development Services and areas of
Entrepreneurship Development.
Students of B.Tech. Electronics and Communication, Electronics and
Instrumentation, Information Technology and Computer Engineeringof Shobhit University were successfully placed in the recently
conducted campus drive. Students from many institutes of NCR
participated in the campus drive conducted at Shobhit University
campus in Meerut.

Dr. Bhaskar Mohan Murari, Senior Associate Professor, Vellore Institute of Technology,Vellore, visited the Centre for Biomedical
Engineering, Shobhit University on Dec 27, 2010. He discussed about the career and scope of biomedical engineering in India
and abroad. During the interaction, he focused on higher studies options of biomedical engineering. He also extended his help
and support for the training and placement of the students in different organizations.
