Motivating and engaging your workforce
The SHL Motivation Questionnaire measures what an individual’s strongest motivators and demotivators are. The questionnaire focuses on Energy and Dy-namism; such as achievement and competition, Synergy; like recognition and personal growth, Intrinsic factors; for example interests and flexibility of an individual and Extrinsic factors; like progression and status within a role Who are the tests for? The MQ is suitable for all levels Available in 18 languages Report outputs available for trained users and untrained line managers plus a candidate re-port is also available. Can be used at all stages of the career cycle such as:
Career counselling
Performance management
Selection
Staff induction
Staff retention.
How do the tests work? Applicants receive a link to the test which they complete unsupervised online.
This link can be sent out by Getfeedback, by the customer or by an applicant tracking pro-vider, linked to our platform.
The survey is not timed and consists of three tasks to complete each with a group of differ-ent actions. Each action is rated with the fol-lowing scale:
Totally Unacceptable
Not helpful
Ok, but not ideal
A good thing to do
Background Many organisations believe money to be the best motivator when, in fact aspects such as recognition and development can be just as valued to an individual and much more cost effective. The motivational questionnaire fo-cuses on these motivators.
