Small measuring tools are the back bone in many Industries. Whether the mechanical tool or
electrical or electronic tool, each measurement needs a precision up to its class. The metering and
measuring is requirement of routine in any Industry, including Tiny Small or Medium type. The
meter used for routine checks, incoming, in-process or final testing needs to be accurate to meet
the quality requirement of the product coming out of the industry.
It is obvious that the instrument in use always drifts at its usage (called ageing) and needs to be
refreshed to meet the manufacturer’s specifications. That means every Instrument needs to be
checked for its error status periodically. Thus Calibration check with reference to a standard value
of same parameter is necessary every now and then. Whrerever possible an error correction to be
incorporated so as to maintain the health of the instrument (UUT).
EVERY CALIBRATION, MAY BE OF A VERY SMALL METER OR OF A HUGE SYSTEM, BUT
CONTRIBUTES SOLELY TO THE QUALITY OF THE FINAL PRODUCT OF AN INDUSTRY .
Judging the competence of calibration techniques is very much required before using thefacility.
AT THE FACILITIES, EVERY MEASUREMENT TAKEN SHALL BE THE PERFORMANCE CHECK ON
THE METER(UUT). READINGS PRODUCED BY THEN REFLECTS THE HEALTHINES OF THE UUT.
THE PRIMARY REASON FOR CALIBRATION IS TO ENSURE ACCURACY OF MEASUREMENT. Hence
judge the calibration needs of your Testing Systems and contribute to your Product Quality. It is
possible that the instrument to give readings which might have drifted due to usage (called ageing).
Always correct it to manufactures spec and maintain healthiness of your testing system.
